I will vote for Obama tomorrow.

There is just no way I can vote for Hillary. She's so much like GWB it's scary. Maybe not in her policies, but in the type of people they are and the lack of character they both have.

Great video, Dianne.

I've been having a hard time making up my mind who to support in this race. I feel I need to get behind the candidate who will be most likely to win the election (I think I will shoot myself if we end up with another Republican) and so I've been trying to use my head more, trying to get a feel for the American psyche. . .

But my heart is saying Obama.

Dianne: Would you believe I have friends who don't vote? At home, I have a vinyl Stephen Stills record that says on the back "Use the Power 18. Vote!" When I was old enough to vote I was excited. That seems to be missing today. I hope everyone participates either way they feel. When my union AFTRA lost the merger with SAG (overlapping unions) in 2003 it was by less than 3%!

Have a great day, Dianne!

Amen, Amen and Amen!
Isn't that just the most awesome video though?

that video stands on it's own as a work of art.

in two hours i'm off to vote for barack. this is the first time since i cast my very first vote for bobby kennedy in the '68 mass primary that i have been able to vote with both my head and my heart.

What a great video!
Yes, we need this man!

Jay: I have strong feeling for the Clintons - both positive and negative - right now I wish Bill would just lose his voice cause I'm not pleased with what has been coming out of it.

I know Lisa - trust me I don't make this decision lightly. If any of the Republican candidates get in it will be horrible. Each one of them has such a dark, hateful side. I respect McCain for his service but he has changed from his "straight talk" days and I fear he is making deals with the devils to get elected. And we'll be the ones paying back.

Micheal: Sadly I do believe it. I too know many people who don't vote. I know it sounds corny but every time I vote I think of my Nana's struggle to get to America and I think of all the people, right now, without a voice all over the world. Americans can be so blase about their freedom.

Jeni and Cathy: oh yes Amen! the video is a work of art. and Cathy - as usual when I posted I forgot to mention my head ;) I've done my homework and Barack is the one.

Bobbie: we sure do need him! and I'm so happy you continue to visit, I like you :) - I'm so behind in visiting my fave blogs - this work thing ya know.

I voted today for Obama today, although just as I am typing this, I see that Clinton has won Arizona.

Dianne said...

theresa - I see Clinton took CA, so many delegates!

snoopmurph - Clinton won in NJ too but not by much.

You go Obama! He took Minnesota by a landslide! I loved that video. He is so inspiring. After the Bush years we need someone who can restore Americas credibilty.

Dianne said...

I'm with you minnesotablue! He took quite a few states and by huge margins on some of them.

I'm loving Colarado, it was something like 70/30 for Barack.

You're welcome, Dianne. :-) LOL!

I voted for Obama in the Colorado Caucus last night and the room was decidedly lopsided with nearly twice as many Obama supporters as Clinton supporters. (Though there was one pour soul who was there to support Edwards. She had no idea he had dropped out. LOL!)

I was also voted in as an election judge.

In addition to voting for delegates, we got to decide which platform resolutions should be passed along. It was an interesting process.

I am sorry but I am for Hillary. I just think he is not experienced enough. Also I am psychic and feel that if he gets elected something traumatic will happen! that is my gut instinct!!!

Lisa: your ears must have been burning this morn when I was voicing my displeasure with NJ and raving about Colorado. I mentioned your name several times "... and I'm just going to live in CO! besides Lisa lives there so that'll be fun" could u imagine the trouble we'd get into!

mrsmogul: No need to be sorry. Hilary has some qualities that I admire greatly and I was torn in my decision for quite a while. Barack has experience where I feel this country needs it - community activism, international stuides and he is just no where near as divisive and corporate as I feel Hilary can be.

As for something traumatic happening - well that is the fear from our country's horrible history that we must fight or it wins.

I don't have any say in who gets voted in down there....when I first started listening to Obama..I thought that is refreshing....but he more I see him...the more I listen to him....the more my gut says...there is something not right about this man....he reminds me of the movie the "Manturian Candidate(sp)" Obama seems to waxy, to rehersed...to clone like....but then I look at the choices...and isn't it sad that out of a country of 247 million this is the best ....hmmm......but I hear what you say Dianne...vote with your heart...vote for whom you believe will best represent your country...and lead you into a better future....

It's all we can do smalltown rn. While I obviously disagree about Obama I do agree with you that our choices become more and more limited all the time. Our system is so broken that decent, idealistic people don't even want to try. I see that firsthand in my little township committee. It is so exhausting and such a thankless, uphill battle to run for this tiny little office that all the good folks get crushed. We end up with the same hacks over and over again. And the amount of money you need to run is obscene. And what the press does to you is absurd.
But we have to keep trying :)
Maybe I'll run for township committee, that'll scare the pants off them!

Do you need help packing, Dianne?? I'm there! :-)

Township committee--what an excellent idea! Getting involved, putting action to your ideals, that is the only way to to make sure change happens in a way that reflects your values. . .

Thanks for visting my blog! I am happy that Obama was the choice (overwhelmingly) of my state. I hope he can continue growing in popularity and that he will be the eventual Dem nominee. He is their best chance of winning, and must be at the TOP of the ticket, not as VP or anything like that. I worry about what happens if the race is a draw and those "superdelegates" get to choose. Obama has been running very well in so-called "red states" like mine. They would be wise to pay attention to that sort of appeal...

Dianne said...

trust me Lisa, I am more than tempted! moving that is - I don't know about running for township but I may do some research.

fermicat - thanks for visiting me as well. I enjoy your blog a lot and I'm worried about your cat :)

You're right about Obama's diverse appeal - perhaps because he's not so divisive? and I hate the whole superdelegates crap - that's how we got into trouble the last 2 times.
