I'm looking forward to the continuing saga of these two beautiful furries. I watched the slide show a few times and each time more pictures showed up so it must keep loading after it starts... I just mention this for others with slow internet connections.

I'm sticking with my faith that Siren and Mia will end up being friends.

This is a great slide show! You have two lovely kitties. When will they recognize that about one another? Don't worry - the time will come.

Your cats are adorable - great movie :)

Mia has a lot of similarity to our old cat here, Gracie -puffball of fur and tiny, very delicate legs and feet. Gracie though is black with golden flecks scattered about her coat.
I mentioned the other day that Nina is back for a short visit while my son and his roommate are doing some work on my son's house that would necessitate Nina's being locked up in a bedroom for several days. This morning, about 6 a.m., Nina and Jorge were have a blast -chasing each other through the house, up and down the steps -sounded like a herd of elephants racing through here. It even shook my son-in-law awake enough that he came down around 7 a.m. instead of laying in bed till 7:30 and letting that freaking alarm clock of his continue to blast its siren noises.
While I got a good chuckle out of the cavorting cats, he was not very impressed with their running abilities.

thanks raven, I'm sticking with your faith in them as well

bobbie - I hope the time does come, I'm keepin' the faith.

thanks so much pink dogwood!

jeni - I was laughing when you wrote about Maya saying "the neener is here!"
and yep, Mia's weight is mostly hair.

Cute babies you got there.

I loved this; the captions for the photos were so great and so suitable!
We justfound out Basil has fleas!!

Dianne said...

thanks kenju :)

cg - thanks, I was hoping to convey the story LOL
Basil and fleas do not go together, don't those fleas know better!? It's a pain to be rid of them but then it's OK. Will he wear a collar?

Lovely "tail" presented in slideshow. Looking forward to the continuation...

Dianne said...

ahhhh a pun! and from somebody as smart as you reh, I love it. I'm looking forward to the continuation as well. The vet has given the OK for Mia and Siren to spend some "together" time. If you hear howls it might just be me.

Great show, and your captions are AWESOME! And you know what else? I have bowls exactly like their food bowls. I always knew there was a cosmic connection between us! LOL

P.S. This is Cherie. It didn't let me post my "normal" way again."

Okay, it's official-my boys LOVE the slideshow. We have watched it about five times with running commentary, especially on the litter box-inspiring quite a discussion. I'll spare the details.

Ian was also convinced every cat was a different cat. He finally asked "Why is that cat always Siren or Mia?" Then, we had to watch and say what the cat was doing in the picture. To which, he discovered several included cats sitting on the bed or the couch. We had to then discuss why cats like to sleep.

Connor said "kitty" a few times and he watched intently for the first two rounds. Very cool!

Okay-a question...is the freakishly small feet inspired by the Friends episode? I am a huge Friends fan and that immediately sprang to mind!

Great kitty slideshow-we all loved it!

Great kitty-cat slide show there. I'm allergic to cats but don't hate them like some people who are allergic to them do. And cats absolutely looooooove me. They probably know I'm allergic. LOL ;-)

cherie - I believe blogger is trying to tell you to embrace your many personalities :)
those bowls are from an old set, they were the ice cream bowls I thin and Siren's flat dishes are from yet another old set. Their water dishes are the only real "cat dishes" they use. Mia had to have purple and Siren got Garfield cause he's a sarcastic bastard.

snoopmurph - did Connor notice that he got a personal shout out from Siren in one of the captions? I was thinking of him watching Si's picture on my sidebar and I had to say hi to him. We should have included Ian (slaps self on head) and we will in the next show. Just assumed that he was too Star Trek cool to mess with kitties :)
I love that you guys watch and discuss - I love everything about you guys.
It was Joey with the "freakishly small feet" right!? I did think of that and also Craig Ferguson always talks about how "fat guys with small feet make me happy"
So glad you all enjoyed the Mi/Si show :)

jay - how could cats (and anyone else) not love you!? but the allergy thing can be awful. my niece is very allergic and when she visits she can only be in my son's part of the house where the cats don't venture and if anyone is in my part of the house they must be "de-haired" before going near her! I vacuum like a lunatic to begin with but when she's around I become a fanatic.

Ah, this brings back memories of my late Cousin who fought Cancer on and off for 8 years. She raised horses and had two cats. "Beethoven" (a solid white Cat who was deaf) and a silky, shiny black coat fur cat named "Scorpio". "I must plan my moment" and "She'll Never Know I'm in Here" was a BLAST! I'm glad you love cats as I do, Dianne! This was a really FUN post!! :)

Eavesdropping again - There's something that helps a lot with people with cat allergies: Mullein leaf tea. I've had very allergic people visit and they have a cup of the tea and are good for two or three hours. You can also get mullein leaf in drops, I think. Don't know if that works as well as the tea.

i just loved this!
mia looks like she is on the road to becoming a proper feline diva.

Sleepypete said...

Big lol at the slideshow :-)

On allergies - I think cats know how to detect the people who get them worst. So they give them a bit of fuss to make them feel better about it.

I'm only a minor allergy sufferer (tell that to the people at work!) but I always prefer suppressing sneezes due to a cat asleep on my lap to not wanting the cat near me.

Dianne said...

michael - an all white cat and an all black cat! how cool was she!
Glad you enjoyed our little show, thanks.

raven - I will ask my niece if she has tried the tea, she has tried a lot of things. She's 21 now and the allergies are as bad as when she was a kid and they often cramp her style. Hard to visit people with pets, even ride in a car where a dog might have been. It's frustrating for her.
And it's not eavesdropping LOL

cathy - I do believe Mia will be a fine Diva. She has a few different meows and one of them sounds like she's saying "nah" and another sounds like she's saying "huh" - perhaps she'll be a Valley Girl!

sleepypete - thanks for the LOL!
I'd hate to disturb a cat on my lap as well but suppressing sneezes is the act of a true pet person.

I should try to post a tale about my dog and cat, but it wouldn't be nearly as funny!

I'm such a sucker for kitty cats. These two are beauties! And very eloquent, too. :-)

That was fun! Loved the captions, Mia totally looks like she has "allergy face"...poor little girl.

tt said...

Aww, so precious! I'm looking forward to the pics of Mia and Siren 'playing' together. that should be really fun don't cha think? Loved the slide show...that is one expressive kittie! We have/had an outside cat namedTabby..original huh? I'm allergic dammit!! Anywho...we haven't seen him in over a week though so I'm sad. I love looking at your and etk's babies. perks me right up! :)

Dianne said...

diane mandy - I bet it would be! and even if it isn't all of us animal lovers enjoy photos of each other's furkids.

tammy - I haven't had kittens in such a long time. I had JR and Sheba, got them from the shelter when they just weeks old. Sheba lived til 13, JR to 16. All my others were older rescues that no one else would take. I specialize in that :)

thanks casdock :)

sparkling red - they do have a lot to say don't they! LOL

shelly - allergy face it is, especially her eyes and now that she knows the drops are coming she's not too thrilled, I'm running out of ways to trick her.

tt - I'm sorry about Tabby but they often just come back. I help care for a feral colony in a nearby town and they come and go. Siren has so many expressions!! but is very quiet. Mia has the same face but makes tons of different sounds. Funny how that worked out.

Hi Dianne! I love the slide show. Siren is a handsome cat and Mia is a beautiful girl. She looks like she is recovering nicely. Before you know it they will be best friends. Have a good night. Lisa

Dianne said...

Hi Lisa!
Glad you liked the Mi/Si show :)
They are pretty cute if I do say so myself and I truly hope they learn to love each other.

Jo said...

That was so fun, Dianne...there was intrigue, suspense, comedy, lots of purple towels like an indie art-noveau flick :) Maybe they're just at that early-crush stage, like in 5th grade when Johnny kept throwing balls at my head b/c he loooooved me.

Your caption about freakishly small feet almost killed me LOL!

Dianne said...

thanks jo!! I tried to go for a complete story line. I had a Johnny in 5th grade too - his name was Arthur and he threw the big blackboard erasers at me.

This is terrific! I have two cats and they pretend not to like each other. Your short hair looks like my Buzzy.

That was absolutely delightful!
Great job!

Dianne said...

thanks cardiogirl! I must admit that Candy-Gram gave me a big chuckle.

sandpiper - I love the name Buzzy. Glad you liked our little show :)

thank you so much Odat
I've been thinking (all good things) about you all day today :)

Oh Kim - as my Nana used to say "from your mouth to God's ears" - so far all there's been is a lot of death glares from siren and demonic hissing and growling from Mia, which comes off as hilarious to me considering how tiny and fragile she is.

minnesotablue - I'm so glad you enjoyed the "Mi/Si" show :)
animals do bring so much joy. the two of them cheer me up and Mia makes me feel so worthy by getting healthier under my care.

Diane J Standiford said...

ADORABLE. So many cats need homes, yours are lucky kittoes!

Dianne said...

thanks diane j - I wish I could take in more. My dream is to win a big Lottery and have a huge farm for every animal to have a home.

I loved your slide show! They are both adorable and photogenic. I loved the glove picture because it reminded me of my two sock thieves. lol But I'm wondering if your cats are real because you have NO scratch marks on those closed doors or screens. How do you perform that magic?
