Project Black: Stayin' In the Shower All Day!

I just plain hate hot weather! The sun and humidity make me less than my usual perky self.

I wanted to do another one or two PROJECT BLACK posts before it was over. I took these bathroom shots the same day as the kitchen and then other stuff bumped them.

I did NOT style my bathroom before I shot it. A friend accused me of that when I asked her to help me weed 20+ photos down to these 4. I'm just neat. Plus this is the first bathroom I have ever had that is mine, mine, mine and just mine! It's small but it's mine.

In case you're wondering - the bathroom is mine! I don't share it with anyone. Well Siren sleeps on the bathmat sometimes but that's OK. He doesn't leave the seat up and he doesn't shed in the shower.

I'm hoping to catch up with all the other PB'ers later today.

Dianne,

Oh, your bathroom is beautiful and so neat and tidy. The colors are pretty and so girlie. I'm glad you have this all to yourself. What a lovely place to take time out for YOU!

Enjoyed your post and also the nice tribute to Uncle Lee.

Blessings,
Mary

I'm loving that bathroom -colors, style, vanity -you name it, looks great!
Your vanity looks to be pretty close in dimensions to ours but I can never set anything out on it that makes it look the least bit "dressy" cause no one here (well certain individuals) don't seem to see the need to wipe up their long hair strands left behind from hours of primping by the mirror goddess you know. And someone else doesn't seem to see all those tiny black specks that are actually the residue from daily facial shaving and line up along the back of the upper vanity ledge as well as area behind the faucet, etc. And rinse the sink when you're done -an unheard of idea to some folks too! ARRGH!

Boy you are neat! I especially like that last shot. I like the angle and I like the photo that it's a photo of.... This weather is must misery itself, isn't it. At least there is a breeze here, though it's blowing hot air. Better than stillness, I guess. It really is nice to have a place that is really and truly your own. Hope you have found a way to stay cool.

Those scales that are propped up ... Is that to give them a constant reminder of what might happen to them if they dare to give the wrong answer ?

As usual, you've made mi smile, laugh and want to give you a big hug! Sweet bathroom, luv. I love the statue in the corner, by the tub.

I'm not good in heat either. I get very irritable I'm sad to say.

Love your bathroom, the purple theme is very rich looking :) The pics are great and the last one in particular is great for project black. Love the angle :)

Dianne said...

thanks mahala

tt - yes, the room is mine, I should have made it clear. the red things are grooming gloves for the cats, they were down there because they were full of hair and had to be cleaned out.

Dianne said...

mary - it's so nice to have one room where, after you clean, it stays clean! :)
and thanks for reading about Uncle Lee.

jeni - I hear ya! I spent my whole life putting down seats and cleaning hair and scrubbing showers!

raven - I am neat, a bit OCD at times. comes from living in chaos for so long. I like the last one too and the photo is one of a set I got in Montreal.

Dianne said...

sleepypete - yes, that scale better watch its step ;)
actually it has the most black of anything in the bathroom but usually sits behind the toilet, there's just no way to make a toliet photo interesting.

thanks tammy

fermicat - I just added all the purple and green towels and little splashes of color, it was way too black and white and silver before that.

Dianne said...

quen size funny bone - you've got that right!! thanks :)

thanks pagan :)
a friend made that. remember when every bored or unhappy woman was taking ceramics class? very big in the 80s. well she made that and of course said it was worthless and I've kept it out and on display for 20+ years.

thanks bobkat! I like that last one too :) and purple is my favorite color.

Hi Dianne! I love your bathroom. What's up with the sexy statue on the floor in front of your tub? One more question. What are the red mitts on the rug?

I'm with you. I HATE hot weather. I cannot wait for fall and winter. I would rather shoveling the white stuff then sweat my ass off. Have a good night. Lisa

Dianne said...

lisa - a friend made the statue
and the gloves are grooming gloves for King Siren and Queen Mia.
Have a good night too lady, maybe it'll snow overnight ;)

Di that is one hellva latrine!

Oh that is a purdy bathroom!

Ron said...

Ok...here's two more reasons why I like you...

I HATE TO BE HOT!!!!

I would rather eat glass, than be hot.

Can I just tell you how bitchy it makes me? For the past few days I've refused to go outdoors, in fear that I'm going to slap someone. Give me a SNOW STORM and freezing temperatures anyday...but HEAT...I just want to DIE!

And like you right now...it's HORRIBLE here!

And the second reason why I like you...

Is because of your bathroom.

A bathroom to me, is my sacred space. I love having a bathroom more than any room in the house. And like you...I keep mine spotless.

I really like the colors you've chosen for yours.

And I REALLY like the last photo.

(you know me and black and white!)

Fun post, Dianne!

Lovely bathroom!
I like neatness too.

What a lovely, soothing space. I really like the way the black trim against the white sets the tone for the room.

wanna come and fix my bathroom~~so neat and i love your style of decorating~~~

I hate hot too!!! but love your colors!!!
Peace

Schmoop said...

Wow, you are neat indeed. Love the shots, Di. Stay cool. Cheers!!

Ivanhoe said...

Ooooh I like the lavenders & purples in your bath.
We share out bathroom so I guess I will get my own in a next house :o)

Dianne said...

roger - latrine!! love it. I'm gonna start calling it the 'Lavendar Latrine'

starr - thank you :)

ron - I just saw the 5 day forecast and I'm not pleased!! October can't come soon enough. My car is so old that it has to run for a spell before I can put the AC on. So the first 15 minutes of any trip are dangerous with me.
The last shot was the 'art shot' - the others were just to show folks the latrine. Glad you liked it :)

carletta - being neat just makes the day easier. I usually just clean as I go. then I don't feel like I ever have to really stop and clean :) thanks carletta.

robin - thanks. I painted the molding around the white ceiling tiles black also. Would you believe there were originally pink!!

charlene - thanks hot stuff :)
A little tip - check out craft stores and garden centers - almost all the accessories in the bathroom were meant for something else. I have ceramic planters for my lotions and potions. all those little thingies on the shelf are votive holders. the black wire basket was at Micheals for $1 and so on.

odat - thanks, purple and black are my favorites. they're HAWT lol

thanks matt-man - I need cool lessons, are you available? ;)

ivanhoe - they are pretty colors, thanks!! my little bit of being girly.

I love the angle on that last photo. Is that a staircase picture in the frame? Very interesting. I think you might have briefly mentioned that you don't share this room with anyone. Isn't it fantastic? The best thing that has ever happened to me was moving into my apartment and having my OWN bathroom!

Tink said...

I miss the days when I had a bathroom all to myself. *Sigh* There was always toilet paper whenever I needed it...

Unknown said...

Love the decor and I'm with ya on the heat. When I was younger, I loved it. Now, not so much...

So, am I losing my mind? Do you have a Myspace account? I was there, where I thought it was you, and now I can't find it. Totally confused.

Thx for all your visits *huge huggies*

CG said...

Your bathroom is lovely! I'd love my own bathroom...I love my hubby but I think separate bathrooms would be great...

Dianne said...

knight - yes I may have mentioned that it's MINE!! the photo on the wall is a snow covered iron staircase, it has a partner on another wall. I bought them from an indie artist in Montreal.
my next dream is to have the whole place to myself. I have never lived alone!

tink - yep, and the TP is actually ON the holder rather than propped up somewhere, I'll never understand why men can't do simple things lol

chuck - I do have a Myspace but I rarely go there. In fact, I was there on Sunday and saw a comment you left me in June!! sorry !! I signed up to keep an eye on my niece and a friend's daughter - their parents are a bit PC challenged. Both kids have since been bored by Myspace so I just go there to say hi to a few old friends.

cg - If I every marry again (hahaha - hilarious!!) - I want a huge house with lots of room for alone time and together time. Glad you like my room :)

A bathroom all to yourself - that is great. My little one insists on using my sink and leaving globs of kiddie toothpaste everywhere :)

Lovely bathroom and beautiful pictures.

I was going to say "Incredibly tidy!" and then proceeded to read your notes.

Great "styling" - wish I were that neat! :)

Oh My Goodness...Is that YOUR gorgeous Lavender Powder Room? (((winks)))

What a beautiful job you did decorating, and you are neat as a pin. Of course I LUVVV the Lavender. ;-) Thank You for sharing Dianne.

I started a brand new blog with a brand new look. Hope you come by to visit. I am going to get back to all the memes also. I so love them all especially Creative Photography and Wordzlle!

Have a great evening sweetie!
Hugs,
Kimmie

Wow, a bathroom of your very own. I share mine with three guys. There won't be any photo shoots in there.
Pretty bath, pretty pictures!

Oh, I love your bathroom! It is indeed neat, and I gather that it is all yours.

Thanks for the visit to see the owls that came to Snooty's party. I sort of pooped out on the project black project.

A bathroom of your own? What a dream that would be...I like the photos..

pink dogwood - it is great, thanks.

leonard - it takes a wee bit of OCD which I don't really suggest is a good thing. disorder just makes me anxious :)
thanks so much for coming by

kimmie - I forgot to mention, it's MY bathroom ;)
I found your new site from a comment at Roger's, I was wondering where you were! I've been over and it's a lovely layout.

mymaracas - 3 guys!! ouch! I remember when I shared with 2, I wouldn't have taken any photos in there either :)

beverly - I enjoyed snooty and the owls more than another PB anyway. Snooty having his pic taken was adorable.

etk - anytime kid. I'll pick you up at the airport. and bring the flamingo

anndi - thanks!! it took me 45+ years to have a bathroom of my own lol

michelle - it is a dream, thanks lady :)

Okay, it's lame but I can only hear Paul McCartney singing, "The room is mine..the doggone room is mine." Lame, right?

It's great to have your own bathroom! My husband has his own and I get to share with the boys. Woohoo!

Dianne said...

janet - thanks!!

snoop - I'd renegotiate that deal if I was you :) and you're never lame

the walking man said...

Dianne is keeping the scale leaned against the tub a way to have it not record true? A form of neglect? And why do women always leave the seat down? A real man will just pee over the rim of it and hope his aim is true.

Dianne said...

mark - you caught me! scale abuse!! I'm hoping to confuse it.

Gattina said...

When I saw your title I expected you black in the shower, lol !

Your bathroom is SO neat and clean. I'd be too embarrassed to post mine on my blog, it's too chaotic!

Dianne said...

gattina - there isn't enough plastic surgery invented to enable me to do a shower scene! ;)

jackie - but chaos works for some people. my office is always in some version of tornado toss - I work better that way but must live in order. I am nuts ya know.

That is one beautiful bathroom!

You are neat ~ almost makes me want to do something with ours.

Notice I said almost. I'd rather blog.
