Ruby Tuesday: The Games Stop Here?

This is a strip mall near my home that just got a face lift. The sky was so pretty that day and the 'Game Stop' sign stood out along with all the other little splashes and peeks of red.

Nice selection for a Ruby Tuesday. I try and keep my 13yr old away from Game Stop, Ha! Have a great Ruby Tuesday.

You've captured a great sky behind the red sign.

Wow. There are so many applications for that sign...

And Dianne, I'll hang with you anywhere sweetie. Garden or no garden.

A new 'GameStop' is being fitted in an old bank building nearby. the red trim above the windows plays nicely with the earth tones exterior paint.

Red is red, and you chose your reds well. happy Ruby Tuesday!

I like the pinks of the sky! I like the pink strip on the building, too.

I love a good partly sunny day! Makes for great photography! Love the red/blue combo!

The red really does stand out against the blue sky. Have a great day! :o)

It was that sky you were supposed to see - the GameStop sign just happened to be there! :)
Great shot.
Hope you're getting around a little better these days.

columbo - I know!! Everything in there is so expensive and most of it is beyond me. Whole worlds of games and hardware.

chuck - it was a great sky that day, thanks and hugs

ilanadavita - thanks! I was hoping to get some more sky shots but the sun kept coming out from behind the clouds and blinding me.

mojo - awwwww, thanks!! so would I! I thought it was cool how close our scores were.

ralph - I like when they keep the integrity of a building even if they change its purpose. way too much tearing down going on around here.

leora - I like that pink strip too! and they have the same color bricks on the main walk, very pretty. as soon as all the construction is done I hope I can get more shots.

RLL - you're right - it was only when the sun peeked back out that I had trouble. it went from cloudy to blinding every few minutes.

tammy - thanks!!

carletta - LOL! funny you say that, I was thinking of SW but the sun kept blinding me and I can't walk around very well to get away from it. I wasn't even supposed to be out yet but I had to get some air. my driving foot is still OK lol

minnesota - thank you! especially for the TLC
I'm hangin' in and moving forward (kinda) LOL

Dear Dianne,
The contrast between the soft cloudy blue sky and the strait lined roof and the firm red letters. I like it.

Wow..that is some sky...ah Gamestop, when my son was a teen I think I owned the one near us, but never got any money...just gave it ...LOL

That GameStop name definitely does stand out on the face of the building -- just waiting for someone to photograph it for Ruby Tuesday!

Dianne said...

felisol - thanks!! I thought it was a cool scene

bond - it was a great day. I had never heard of Game Stop before moving to NJ

bobbie - it is!! LOL

Great RED shot for Ruby Tuesday Dianne! I have never heard of Game Stop but they sure do have a cool red sign...lol!

Was thinking about you much of the day today. I sent up some heartfelt prayers for you for God to give you comfort and peace in your heart. Today my dad would have been 77 years old. May they both be smiling down upon us from Heaven above. Holding your hand through cyberspace my dear friend.
Hugs,
Kimmie

Good one. Hope you are feeling better. I am a touch under the weather again... fighting big D Depression a bit. Hoping to post something tomorrow. Glad you are still pasting. Hope the leg is healing. You are in my thoughts.

Would have been a nice combination for "Skywatch" and for Ruby !!

Beautiful sky and cheery red sign!!

Bobkat said...

Spoilsport! Why must the games stop? LoL! :)

The cloud formations add great texture to the sky and the red of the sign and the bvlue of the sky really compliment each other. Great shot for the theme!

Holy Crap. We have a Game Stop here and the building front of the Strip Mall looks very similar. Maybe it's the same developer. Cheers Di!!

So that's where the games stop. I always wondered.

Hmmm. I've never heard of GameShop. Must be an American thing, which means it'll be in Canada soon, probably. ;-)

onangelwings - this Game Stop is always full of all the local kids

napaboaniya - LOL when my son was into games the choices were really Nintendo and he played Pac Man or Donkey Kong. Now there are thousands!! I feel for ya :)

kimmie - seems those of us with older kids don't know Game Stop, I never saw it before I became a mentor. Thank you for all your sweet wishes Kimmie

raven - the ole Big D rears its ugly head!! Sorry about that. I'm pushing through as best I can. Thinking about you too!

gattina - it would, that was my original intention but every time I tried to get more sky in the shot the sun came out and I was facing right into it. With the bad leg I couldn't move around much. Shame because it was a wonderful sky :)

mar - thank you!!

bob-kat - I was only asking LOL
glad you liked the shot.

matt-man - a new guy did buy the place hence the face lift so maybe it is.

mark - ahhhh how we think alike! I love that. Every time I pass the place I chuckle and think - well the games around me are still going on!

eg - I never saw one until I moved from NY to NJ. But of course we're creeping in over the border slowly but surely LOL

I guess I am out of the loop not knowing what Gamestop was..now I do...

A good find-and you provide good discussion for us too. I've seen GameStop-never actually stopped.

How are you feeling today??

Dianne said...

aileni - we learn something new every day. I thought Game Stop was just NJ.
and you're welcome. your post was very powerful and beautiful

bear - I hope the games are wherever we are ;)

cg - thanks!

babylonezoo - thanks! I love how you add such an international flair to my post :)

jackie - don't ya love pink clouds!

anndi - LOL I responded to jackie and then saw your comment. we're on the same wave length

mymaracas - and I never liked red before! now I appreciate it everywhere.

rambling - I was too. I think you have to have young kids and I'm beyond that phase.

snoopmurph - considering how addictive everyone says it is maybe you don't want to stop! I'm hanging in, I have to admit it is getting to me, how hard every little task is but I'm moving (slowly) forward. thanks for asking. hugs to I and C and tell Thomas he has to post more :)

Gamestop, a double-meaning choice for a store, good observation for Ruby Tuesday though.

Only about 11 days late to the party.

That sky is gorgeous! I've never been to a Game Stop, but then I lead a quiet life.
