Ten Word Challenge: humanity, shadow, ricochet, wrong, pluralism, mathematics, personhood, printing press, ink spot, choral society
Mini Challenge: kingdom, take names, best seller, three times, inner demons
Pithy Pluralism was the new head of the Cholera Choral Society. She had come to the small Texas town from a village in the United Kingdom to help the group become the first American choir to win the prestigious Personhood Award. The award was bestowed upon the one choral society that best exhibited its commitment to humanity through its music.
Pithy was at the printing press creating the new program as the choir begun arriving for practice. The former head of the society, Missy Mathematics, was always first to arrive. True to her cheerleading and beauty pageant roots Missy immediately ran across the room to hug Pithy. This sudden exaggerated gesture of fake friendship caused the ink cartridge Pithy was filling to ricochet off her hand leaving a huge ink spot on her silk blouse. “Oh I’ve done something wrong again” Missy squealed. Pithy assured her that the permanent damage done to her expensive garment was not a problem. “I’ll just wear it only at night Missy, people will think it’s a shadow, don’t bother your pretty head over it.”
Pithy was rescued from Missy by her assistant Evan Devine. “Let’s get organized people” he called out, clapping his hands. “If we’re not ready to begin in 5 I’ll take names and it will not be pretty.” He joined Pithy in the corner as all the others scurried to get in place. “I see Missy’s passive-aggressive inner demons caused another accident” he whispered, eyeing the ink spot. Pithy laughed. “I guess it’s not as bad as the day she accidentally backed into my car – three times.” Pithy was laughing so hard she had to hide her face in the freshly printed programs. “What will you take away from all this grief if we don’t win?” Evan asked. Pithy took a deep breath to stop the laughter and exhaled slowly.
“Win or lose I’m writing a best seller about Missy and the girls.”

I do believe that Pithy will have a definite best seller on her hands. Poor Missy..she tries so hard :)
And Dianne...great use of all the words. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
I agree I believe Pithy will have a best seller, too! You are good! Fun read!
WE hope they win.
How could anybody back her car into another's three times. You humans are so strange.

Wordzzle is a great way to start the day - and Spring! Yes, I am sure it will be a best seller.
Happy Spring, Dianne.
First wordzzle of Spring and a grand one it was! I love Pithy's name and her attitude.
Aw how kind Pithy was to Missy (gosh that was a mouthful to say without sounding as though I have a lisp!)after her clumsiness. :)

I think Missy tries a little too hard
sylvia - ex-cheerleaders in a Texas town! what could possibly go wrong ;)

That made me smile!
Dianne, that was a lovely story about the Cholera Choral soceity. I thought Pithy might be a little naughty, but much to my delight she was so gracious to Misty.
I enjoyed your story and you were right, we were on the same page about our stories.
Take care.
Pithy pragmatically prognosticates, palpably performing perfectly, or something like that. As always, love the names.
Well Dianne, you got the hard words all out in the first paragraph - well done.
I loved the story. Usually people in charge aren't as gracious and forgiving as Pithy.
love the name - Missy Mathematics - and you're quite good at using all the words
thanks for your visit
"Pithy was at the printing press creating the new program as the choir begun arriving for practice..."
