Pet Pride: Mia Sounds Off

Hi there pets and pet people. Mia here, at least I think I'm here - I get confused easily. I'd like to thank BOZO for this opportunity to tell a little story.

First - rumors of my coma have been greatly exaggerated! by Siren of course.

I am old and deaf. I am arthritic. I have kidney issues. I take three kinds of meds and on a bad day pooping is not fun. So I sleep a lot. Wouldn't you?

Now that's out of the way. I have a beef with a certain cat who shall not be named - Siren!

Actually to be brutally honest ...

I AM LIVID

I have a beautiful cozy fashionable pristine bed ...

My person - I don't call her Mom since I'm so much older than her - bought three different beds until I settled on this one. We gave the rejects to the animal shelter. I didn't mean to be difficult but this bed will be mine forever - the only other bed I ever had was in the barn at the rescue place and it was a bit ratty and didn't have a cover.

Now - you've all heard how Siren wants to be my friend and how difficult I am about it. I question Siren's motives.

Just look at his expression here when I caught him messing with my blankie ...

He's always playing on the Mom person's sympathy.

Just the other day I awoke ...

To this !!!!!!!!!

It's not over Siren! Not by a long shot ...

I hope you will take the time to visit my friend BOZO. I doubt he is a bed thief and I know he has many other non bed thieves linked at his site.

You're such a good Mom person, Dianne. You should buy more tents and have one of those old-fashioned tipi camps in your living room.

LOL, thats cute! I can really see cats talking like that.

Awww Mia. I hope Siren doesn't have alterior motives. Pfffft call her mom!!

OMG, Dianne...this is SO freaking CUTE!!!

I just about pee'd my pants when I got to the photo of Siren in the bed!!!

bwhahahahahahaha!

Don't you just LOVE cats?

I had a cat (Ashley) who looked almost identical to Mia. He was such a charmer.

Thanks for sharing your precious children, dear lady!

MEOW!

X ya!

I hate to tell you, but bed thievery is a constant problem around here, too. Sometimes the fur really does fly!

Gattina said...

Mia you have the same problems as my Lisa. She is 18 and deaf too. You can see her on my cat blog.
Pet Pride is on Keyhole pictures.

Oh that is very funny! Just like squabbling kids! I think that deep down they like each other!

Oh, I can so relate, Mia! You have the same problems with Siren that I have with Mojo! She has no respect for her elders -- of which, I'm one!! When her dad is gone, she comes downstairs and takes over my space -- even my mom's bed!! And she has this smirk!! I spend my day trying to figure out how to get rid of her, but so far, no luck!!

Ahh Mia the nerve of Siren. There are just some things that can't be shared. He should know that blankies and bed are off limits. Lisa

cracks me up. my chihuahua's were like that too but they would fight over who was going to be in my lap.

Oh this is too cute! My two had worked out who's spot was where - they'll have to do it all again when they eventually get to come home.

I'll have to do a post from their Quarantine Hotel soon. I'm sure Mia and Siren would love to know how Kitty and Sylvester are doing.

akelamalu - I hope so!! although evidence so far says otherwise ;)

mrs c - the funny thing is, there are beds all over the place yet they seem to only want what the other has - sound familar ;)

just me - I always hear Katherine Hepburn whenever I think of Mia's voice
Siren I think may be Tupac come back again

thom - Siren is a boy, they always have ulterior motives

Mia

ron - love ya too uncle ron
I couldn't believe it when I came up the scene, I kept looking for blood and fur but apparently dirty looks were all that were exchanged
Siren has done it one more time that I know of since

deborah - thank you, I feel better

gattina - I am slowly working my way thru the blogs. Mom person is sooooooo slow, she keeps stopping to clean!
I will visit Lisa soon
love, Mia

ladiFi - I do think Siren likes Mia, at least I know he wants her company
Mia truly has no interest but at least now she ignores more than hissing and striking out

sylvia -
hi Sam!! I feel ya my brother!
they are impossible to get rid of, the persons keep getting in the way
all we can do is stand up for ourselves, and our beds
Peace!
Love, Mia

lisa - thank you!! you are the voice of reason
love, Mia

queen size funny - neither of them like laps, or much contact period
Siren will sit near me and purr and give me lovey looks
Mia rubs against me now and then
I take what I can get ;)

rob - we are very interested in how Kitty and Sylvester are doing - it is the only thing we agree on
love, Mia and Siren

Zima says "that's an outrage!!!!! That darned cat should have some respect for elder cats." And then Silvio shoved her and she didn't fight back. *sigh*

Suffering succotat. That's just dispicable!

They both have such expressive faces... She has mellowed some even if she doesn't want to admit it... I predict they will eventually be friends even.... Ya never know.

Oh I live with a sleeping spot thief. He is always sprawling on my spots and expects me to find new ones .. that Gus is mean. I keep telling my people but they think its cause he's old .. he's only old when he wants sympathy .. signed Rosie

Mia, I totally understand where you're coming from. I live with this other human, and he doesn't seem to understand that the couch is MINE. He's always lying all over it. I think we girls should fight for our territory!

GalleryJuana said...

They seem to be coming to some agreements by necessity.

I guess Mia will reclaim her bed when she wants it. Sure looks comfy in there.

Dianne said...

patti - they are both very expressive :)

anya - thank you!

cherie - he is a pain
love, mia

fermicat - dear zima - I hiss and Siren runs away, he comes back unfortunately but he does run - stand up for yourself

magiceye - I am smart enough bozo but I'm old and get tired real quick

hugs to your girls

daryl - dear rosie
I do think us older cats need a little TLC but also us girls have to stand up for ourselves
I'm so confused
love, mia

sparkling - do you hiss? I find it works

This like the sharks and the jets?

Nessa said...

I suggest laying in front of the door on future naps, Mia. Then this infringement on personal space will never occur again.

Linda said...

I can understand where you are coming from completely, Mia, as I have two teenage humans in the house who seem to have the same problems that you and Siren have - no respect for each other's property. Good luck getting Siren to understand that we old folks have our privileges so he needs to stop being such a young upstart and give you your space - and your bed!!

That is such a funny commentary...very well done, Dianne!

Great couple of cats. Mia sure has her paws full!

My cat is driving me crazy! That was a cute set of photos about the 2 cats. I hope they bond soon.

That Siren is such a stinker!

Mia is so lucky to be so spoiled by her companion. I'm so happy you two found each other. And I'm happy you gave the unused beds to the shelter.

OldLady Of The Hills said...

Oh Mia....What a GREAT Bed...And so cozy and perfect for you...That Siren better watch her step....You might have to take some drastic measures and give her a BIG PAW SWAT!

OldLady Of The Hills said...

Ooops! Sorry about the sex-change operation I gave Siren...But then...It might be something you want to make happen, dear Mia....(lol)

Hilary said...

Mia, I think you and Siren are just bored and need a little sh*t-disturber to shake things up a bit.. kind of like Skittles and Zephyr are privileged to enjoy. And then you won't sleep nearly as much either. Life is good!

Love,
Benny
