Patrick Swayze

1952 - 2009

“I found that dance was key to keeping depression out of my life. When you dance, things just go away, things don't seem so bad. There's no better way to take care of health than through something as joyous and beautiful as dance.” - Patrick Swayze

With his wife Lisa ...

... they were together since 1970.

Patrick was often named sexiest man alive, sexiest actor, sexiest dancer ...

I always thought he was a good guy, a regular guy, a genuine person.

"If you live through the initial stage of fame and get past it, and remember that's not who you are. If you live past that, then you have a hope of maybe learning how to spell the word artist." - Patrick Swayze

Peaceful Journey Patrick

People in the spot light who reach, 'famous' status. We forget feel with all the same emotions we have. I liked how you highlighted his humanness.

Every one of his former co-stars who has commented on his passing stressed his nice guy/good person qualities ... may he rest in peace, he fought hard ...

He was a fighter for sure. I think I saw most of his movies and always thought he was an excellent actor.

He's probably in a better place now, where the movies in which he starred were actually good. Cheers Dianne!!

BEAUTIFUL tribute, Dianne!

He had the sweetest soul.

I remember when Dirty Dancing first came out - I went back and saw it THREE times. I still watch it now on DVD and enjoy it just as much.

Rest in peace, Patrick.

A great tribute, Dianne. I was always a fan and enjoyed all his movies, but most of all his dancing! It's always sad to see someone so talented die so early.
RIP, Patrick!

Even my 15 year old son was sad to hear of his passing, all his facebook friends were sad too. He will be missed.
I agree Dianne, he was a regular guy.
Thanks for the thoughtful tribute.

Sometimes it seems sadly true that "only the good die young" and it's a true tragedy and shame that a guy such as Patrick Swayze not only died way too young but had a miserable lot of it, too.

We can still put a man on the moon but we can't cure cancer, can we?

Rest in peace, Patrick, and don't let them put you in a corner up there in Heaven!

R.I.P. to Patrick Swayze! He fought a good battle! And I believe he lived his life into something very special that many people can remember.--"pain don't hurt".

Frank Baron said...

Swayze was one of those rare guys who could do things like dance, and still be a man's man with whom you could have a beer while watching the game.

A nice guy who finished too soon.
