We Were Ready For Some Football

Today was the first Sunday of the NFL season.

My Jets won - granted it was against Houston but a win is a win.

The rookie QB, Mark Sanchez, had a decent game. He calmed down very quickly and ultimately seemed very relaxed and confident ...

Hope was decked out for the opener. She did have some concerns during the first few plays ...

But she was very excited when they scored a touchdown. She was about to throw her hands up in the air in the traditional touchdown sign when Dad threw her up in the air instead.

Hope's outfit is courtesy of Nana. She will model her other Jets outfit later in the season, it was too warm today for the full ensemble.

The socks are too cool for school!

Watching the tail end of the Niners vs Cardinals as I type. A real nail bitter.

Go 49ers

Did you see the end of the Denver game!?

Let Hope celebrate early. She's going to be depressed as the season wears on.

Sorry, just setting hers and every other Jets fan expecatation:-)

I thought about you today as I heard the Jets score. My daughter and family live in Colorado, so they especially loved that amazing turn around finish in the Bronco's game.
And of course my Seahawks won here in Seattle, shutting out the Rams. Our Sounders FC beat DC United in their soccer match Saturday too!
A good sports weekend for us!

Felt like crap and slept most of the afternoon, then had to fix supper and deal with that so I didn't pay a lick of attention to any of the football news today! Me bad, huh?
Now -as to Hope -I have a question for you all there. What in blazes are you feeding that child? Holy rip! She's got some chunker legs for sure! Thankfully, all babies look great with nice fat little legs and I do love to see them. But wow -for her age, she's really moving up that ladder isn't she?
Just have to raze you about that a bit but she does look especially great in that shade of green too!

allison - I kinda like the kid myself ;)

grayquill - I love the Jets, I have for 40 years
that QB pic is just a cherry on the cake

debo - we know, we know
we've been going thru it for years

matt-man - LOL, she always gets that look when she realizes how tall Dad is

oldold lady of the hills - because we told her so LOL

Jay - not yet, but she laughs and laughs when I do it

hilary - it's hard not to sqeeze her too hard :)

linda r - I was thrilled for Denver, that was some play!!

jeni - her thighs were the biggest part of her when she was born
Jeffrey says she's going to be a swimmer or a volleyball player
Hope also says it is a very unflattering angle and she blames her Dad for that ;)

She looks grand in Jet green and those socks are to die for. Congrats on the win, my Dolphins fizzled. Was almost glad I couldn't get the game.

A Jets AND a Giant win to kick off the season ... and Ms Hope looks lovely in her Sunday ensemble but less than pleased with being part of the Wave ..

I'm afraid I'm not a huge sports fan and didn't quite get into North American football during my Toronto stint, but i do approve of the cute as a button little Hope!

Hope is adorable ~ she is indeed growing fast.

Her first words are going to be "Go Jets!" I take it.

Cool outfit.

great socks there nana!

Now those are some cute socks!

Hope seems to be reserving judgment on Mr Sanchez. I don't blame her. She should take her time getting to know the new QB.

...and the Detroit Lions keep the drive alive, but they have instituted an all you can eat seat for $75. That'll get the crowds in.
