The World of Firsts: Yummy Edition

I am weary of the world so I turn to something that is all good.

Hope had her first bit of "real" food this week.

She seemed to enjoy it, there were lots of yummy sounds.

Her Daddy is #1 burper in all the land.

She was a happy girl and wore her oatmeal proudly.

I love those! What a sweet picture of Hope with the #1 burper. :) Takes me back to those days with my own wee one. Nicole was so excited when she took her first bite of solid food (well, what counts for solid food as a baby anyway) she was waving her arms and bouncing up and down like a crazy baby. Good times, good times. . . Thanks for sharing, Dianne. :)

Dianne, she's a doll! Precious!
How old was she when she had her first 'real' food? I know they sleep longer at night with cereal in their tummies.
KP's doctor said she had to be six months. Karen (her mom, our daughter) was eating pizza crusts at about four months.
I do hope you get to see her quite a bit.

Happy Friday the 13th!

lisa - Hope was doing the same thing, I took dozens of shots but she was always moving so much that most are a blur

doc - thanks!! can you believe I'm a gramma

nessa - thanks :)
I kinda like that face too

jim - Hope's doc said 6 months also but then agreed that some cereal was OK at 5 months since Hope is having so much trouble with gas
she gets so anxious when drinking and drinks so fast and is then so uncomfortable
they are hoping that this - among other things - helps
I see her a couple of hours a week and make the most of every moment, thanks :)
Hope sends hugs to KP

peach - thanks Lady :)

Wow! That is a milestone! I am always stunned at how swiftly time flies. Those firsts are so wonderful and yet I find sometimes I want to hold onto them too... Such a beautiful face... enough to melt the woes of the world away - at least for a while.

She is such a beauty! I love oatmeal too.

And she isn't bothered by things like storms. All the havoc felt in our town is with the telephones. Couldn't talk to my daughter in CA today. Lots of wind, but no flooding in our Villas, except for intersections.

Hope is such a sweetie! And she does look at though the #1 Burper is a favorite!

I'm with you, I'm tired of the ranting and raving and government and officials. I'm just playing with my camera these days!

Have a great weekend, Dianne! You and Hope and Burper #1!

OMG Dianne, can I just tell ya....

...looking at photos of Hope just makes my heart swell!

She is absolutely the most ADORBABLE little baby in all the baby kingdom!

And the photo of she and your son is so PRECIOUS! She looks like a little doll sitting on his lap. And those EYES!!! Too cute! You can tell just from that photo, how gentle and caring your son is with her.

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful warm fuzzy on a cold day.

And enjoy that oatmeal, Hope.

You GO, girl!

X ya's

Such big eyes Hope has!

First oatmeal and then on to fruits and veggies! Hmm, wait a minute, don't we kind of end with oatmeal, too??

Hi Dianne! What a cute little girl Hope is. When we're weary, it helps to look at someone so precious and innocent. Kinda makes us feel a little less weary and more hopeful about the world. Lisa

She really is such a beautiful precious girl! When my daughter was just a little older than Hope, we got my favorite picture of her ever. It was Thanksgiving, and we let her hold a ginormous turkey leg, and she tried her best to eat it. Try it this Thanksgiving…

You are so lucky to have such a sweet face to give you back your "hope" for the future.
Bet her diaper will get more interesting now.

Isn't Hope the Gerber baby, Dianne?

Grayquill said...

Are you serious - poor Hope's first meal was OATMEAL - Yuck! Isn't that like child abuse or something? Now lets talk: you are Grandma and Grandma's job is to give Hope hope. One way you can do that is find some choclate cake or ice cream or at least some Gerber fruit to slip Hope when no ones looking. She needs to know people food can be good.
Sorry had to tease just a little

That last photograph was perfection. I STILL make happy sounds when I eat something good - I know how she feels!

I love Hope posts. They make me happy :)

Sorry to be late to this sweetest of posts. I love that black and white shot of Hope. What a beauty she is!

She's a "big girl" now!

Oh look at that gorgeous face! Capturing firsts in photos and in text must be every bit as much fun with grandchildren as it was with our own. Only now, instead of baby books and photo albums, Grandma blogs and has it ready for all to see in a matter of moments. Gotta love it. :)

Sorry you are feeling crappy :( I hope things look up for you soon. Sending lots of positive thoughts from the UK.

I'm jealous. I hope I become a Grandfather while still mobile and with a couple of functioning brain cells. (Why did I just hear Hilary's voice saying "Well, first you're going to have to find a couple of functioning brain cells...."?)

Awwwww...Nana, she is precious. I could have a bowl of oatmeal right about now. Yum!
