Hope Talks: The Call Of The Walk

Hi everyone, I'm Hope and I'm blogging for Nana. Today's topic is all about me (of course) and what Nana describes as 'The Call of the Walk'.

So I was hanging with Nana on Saturday, I was bored and grumpy ...

Up to that point the highlight of my day was contemplating thread count ...

Nana gave me a book and tried to read with me ...

There is only so much of the hungry caterpillar that I can take ...

Moo Cow is a good friend but even he could not distract me from the floor ...

There were people right outside my front door - and they were all walking! ...

A darkness came over me and I really just wanted to poke Moo Cow's eyes out ...

Tell me something. Do people prop you up against things and ask you to come to them? If I could walk on my own would I be standing here ...

Nana thought I wanted play mat time. I was thrilled to see that Moo Cow was OK ...

I told him how sorry I was ...

And then I set about figuring out how to get off the play mat ...

If you act like you're interested in something people don't get that you're planning your escape ...

It's important to look engaged and involved and happy, adults love that crap ...

Then choose your moment and go for it! ...

Use grown-up legs to your advantage ...

Finally! I am mobile baby!! ...

Hey! I can see you ...

Gotta go!

Hope, you're very wise for your age. You'll go far - once you master the walking thing of course. Tell Nana I say hi! Hugs to you both.

Oh sweetie, you are so cute! I'm glad that Moo Cow forgave you. It's always nice when they turn the udder cheek.

Hope, you just figure it out for yourself, and one day you will surprise everyone. You can do it!

Hey Hope! The next time they prop you up against something and tell you to come, turn around and high-tail it the other way!

And giggle...don't forget to giggle.

That Moo Cow is tough. He can take a beating and keep on ticking.

It won't be long, Hope, your going to have Nana running after you until she is all worn out. Then just see what you can get into.

That look on her face is priceless and adorable Dianne! Her parents are going to be blessing you when they realize how many photos you’ve taken. God I wish I had more of my daughter. Shit…I wish I had some of me.

Wow, are you close. Once you join the land of the upright Hope, look out. Got the feeling you will become Nana's fitness trainer when you get your wheels.
You go girl.

Adults love all kinds of crap. It's inexplicable, really. Like, why do they repeat things more than once for everything they say to baby? hmm? why do they repeat things? yes, uh-huh. they do, yes, they do. more than once, sweetie pie. ev-er-y-thing, pumpkin. more than one time, isn't that right? isn't it?

I love your moo-cow and now that you are starting to walk you can make Nana crazy by scooting all over the house

Linda said...

Psst Hope! Just a sneaky word of advice, even when you do become perfectly capable of walking on your own don't forget to occasionally act like you just can't do it anymore and people will pick you up and carry you. It's great for when you're tired or see something across the room that you really want to get to quicker. Remember to use the adults in the house to your advantage and never let them forget you've got them wrapped around your baby finger!

Linda said...

Your very adorable baby finger, that is!

I'm glad to hear that you and Moo Cow are back on good terms. I always find that if I hold someone upside-down while apologizing to them, they are very quick to accept the apology. Good strategy!

She's a doll. And she is lucky to have a grandmother like you!
