Six Word Saturday: Pink Floyd

One of my favorite bands performs one of my favorite songs.

You can see them perform it live HERE

Ever feel like ...

JUST ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL

yeah - me too

Daddy's flown across the ocean
Leaving just a memory
Snapshot in the family album
Daddy what else did you leave for me?
Daddy, what'd'ja leave behind for me?!?
All in all it was just a brick in the wall.
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.
"You! Yes, you! Stand still laddy!"

We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.

We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.
"Wrong, Do it again!"
"If you don't eat yer meat, you can't have any pudding. How can you
have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?"
"You! Yes, you behind the bikesheds, stand still laddy!"

I love that song. And I clearly remember the very first time I ever heard it. I was 6 and for some reason it was part of a news story the nightly news. They showed parts of the movie and pieces of the song and I loved it.

OMG, watching this video and hearing this song again brought back so many memories for me!

I like how the video began.

It was so cool to see them perform at the age they are now. To me, they actually look better than back then. Yet, they still sound exactly the same.

Thanks for sharing, dear lady!

Way great!

X to you and the gang!

You are going to love this one….

I actually got in trouble for singing that song in kindergarten. They ask me to stop and I guess I was in one of those stubborn moods that only a toddler can sustain, so I just kept singing louder and louder. They finally called my parents but my dad was the one who told me to sing it in class in the first place.
He denied that though.

Remember I told you he was a dick…..

I can still see my brothers singing to this song. My brother, Joel, played a mean guitar. He's gone now, but do we have his powerful memories with us, always!

Hugs to everyone, Dianne, and a X to Hope! :))

I am not familiar with that song. I know who PINK FLOYD is, but...as with so much of the music of these last 30 plus years--I never understand anything they are saying.
A very interesting lyric, though, in all honesty I don't know what it really means. I know I sound really old and stupid...lol! Sorry about that.

I've seen them in Prague in mid
90's. They had their laser show on and it was raining like crazy that night. We did not mind the rain at all :)

Love Pink Floyd, Dianne. Chuck and I have even gotten Nicole to like them!

In my humble musical opinion, only Carlos Santana can paint such full, lush leads with such an economy of notes, as David Gilmour. A treat for the ears. Thanks Dianne.

Here's my fave version of a Floyd classic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfY0A-HLeMo

It's a live version of "Comfortably Numb" performed at the famous Berlin Wall concert and features the soaring back-up vocals of Van Morrison (accompanied by Levon Helm and other notables).

Crank up those speakers and enjoy. :)
