The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson: An Evening with Archbishop Desmond Tutu will air for the second time on Monday night at 12:37 on CBS – that’s actually Tuesday morning
It is so worth watching.
The Peabody has been awarded to this episode. The Peabodiers describe it this way …
As this fascinating, often funny interview attests, the Scottish-born Ferguson has made late-night television safe again for ideas.
Yes he has.
As one of his fans who “found” him I’m very pleased and proud.
Now, if you watch this show, you watch it because you found it. No one told you it was on. There’s no bus ads for Craigy, there’s no billboards, there’s no promotion. You found this show because you found it.
And if you’ve stayed with it any length of time it’s because you’re interested .. maybe. And I am.
And I feel — I kind of deny this quite a lot but I do feel a certain connection and kinship with the audience because of that.~ Craig Ferguson
My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together.
~ Desmond Tutu
Laughter is the closest distance between two people.

Thank you for sharing this -- I love Craig Ferguson.
Desmond Tutu is one of the priests who keeps me a practicing Catholic.
This my favorite quote from him.
"Do your little bit of good where you are; its those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”
I don't watch late night TV, although we do record The Daily Show to watch the next day. I'll have to find this show and record it.
Were I going to watch late night TV then I'm pretty sure that Craig Ferguson would be the man to watch regardless of who he has sitting across from him. Come to think of it, he had Robert Downey, Jr sitting across from him the other night and I couldn't decide who my eyes wanted to rest on more so I had to watch it again on replay!
I've seen Bishop Tutu in many interviews and he's a delightful man with a surprisingly great sense of humor.
oh, i shall have to look for this episode on hulu because as much as i do love craig fergusen his show is just too late for me to remain coherent for.
thanks also for visiting my place for POTW. :)
I love Tutu and I love Ferguson. I used to watch him while I worked the midnight shift at the turnpike. I’m missing all the late night stuff now, all I can watch is Stewart and Colbert.
Tutu is no Sarah Palin. Just sayin'. Cheers Di!!
kay - I love that quote too, Oprah used it when she first started her 'random acts of kindness' episodes years ago
linda r - this show is worth recording :)
linda - I know! I know! and I love when Craig flirts and toys with his male guests, it's funny and real
Downey looked great that night
talk about turning your life around!!
jay - he is, and he giggles which I find so wonderful
lime - I think the CBS website also has the episode available to watch
thanks for stopping by
scott - there are tons of Craigy on Youtube and on the CBS website
I'm so glad you like him :)
matt-man - well now that IS absolutely a true statement ;)
I'm a long-time Letterman fan and know that Ferguson follows Dave. But I rarely watch tv past Dave's time slot. I'll try to remember to catch it tonight, though.
Bishop Tutu is not just wise, compassionate and funny but he's cuter than a Smurf. I always thought Desmond Tutu dolls would be a huge seller.
Thanks for the heads up.. maybe I'll just set it up to record now because I know I won't stay awake that late.
Craig fan here and when he talked about the Peabody, I was sorry I missed that show. I TiVO him but only first runs so I am glad you warned me. Will change my settings now. Thanks.
Tutu, another amazing human being, a gift to the World, from my homeland.
I have DVR. I should be recording this program.
I think I can attest that you will never starve - you are too good of a saleslady :)
I will be so cranky tomorrow, losing my happy sleep.
As you know, I am a BIG Craig F. Fan....and I'm so glad I came over here right now because it is almost time for that crazy Scotsman here in my time zone...I saw this the first time but I'm going to watch it again---RIGHT NOW!!!

Craig Ferguson is the best late-night host EVER.
All night shows are so late for me. I miss them all. I'm in bed by 10 pm. And I have no DVR :(

Thanks for visiting FT-L (through your other blog). I'm so glad I found both of yours. I only do the photoblogging thing, but I really enjoy reading a GOOD idea blog. Especially (OK pretty much exclusively) when I agree with it.
Glad to have found you.
