A few glimpses into what's been happening around here the past few days with Hope and Isadora and Siren.
Isadora has been going to the vet a lot. Her auto-immune issues and her gum disease have been acting up.
She goes on full alert the moment she sees the cat carrier ...
I tried to convince her that I was just bending down to take another photo but she took off ...
While I'm wrangling Iza into her carrier Siren makes sure to hide just in case I'm using her as a decoy.
When we return he's finally convinced that he's not the one going and he enjoys inspecting the carrier ...
Hope is in full Jets playoff mode.
She watches the games intently ...
Whenever the Jets are near the goal line she gets ready to do her touchdown dance ...
My son is trying very hard to watch his language now that Hope joins him for the games. I'm pleased to say that she has not learned any naughty words from me.
If she falls or drops something - similar to a tackle or fumble - she sometimes exclaims "Oh Shit".
Dad has to work on that.

I know the cat carrier game of run and hide. I have to be very, very sneaky... and close all the doors to their hiding places first. I hope Isadora is on the mend. And really, you need video of Hope exclaiming her dismay at falling. :)
Speaking of which.. how are YOU feeling?
Great pictures! Thanks for the update about the household, but I agree with Hilary: how are YOU feeling? I think you must be better, you are posting! I don't see any black and blue... :-)
I needed that Hope/Siren/Iza fix .. reminded me of when my friend's son (now a dad himself) was about Hope's age .. he was at the beach and a fly was buzzing around him, he waved his shovel and exclaimed: ''Damn god fly get the fuck away ...''
Ahhh - the cat carrier. An interesting piece of equipment. My cats LOVE the thing when it is just sitting around BUT when I need to get one of them in it . . .they run! I have learned to grab the cat first and then get the carrier. Awkward but at least I don't have to pull a cat out from under the bed!
Hope is too cute!
OMG Dianne, you had me HOWLING all through this post!
Especially the photos of Hope! That one of her watching the game intently is BEYOND precious, because that's exactly what she looks like she doing.
And....
"If she falls or drops something - similar to a tackle or fumble - she sometimes exclaims "Oh Shit".
Bwhahahahahaahhahahaha!!!
You are hilarious, woman!
Also enjoyed the photos of Siren and Izadora.
Hope all is well with Isadora.
Thanks for the great morning laughs!
X to you and the gang!
Lovely post. Had me smiling throughout.. One concern however..what is the liquid in Hope's bottle? Or is it empty? A lot of people enjoy a beer or two while watching the game.. Surely not...no - the eyes are too focused for that. Give Hope a hug. j
Ha! Hope is so cute in that jersey. I'm sure you heard her wrong because she would never say such a thing. :)
When my granddaughter was of a similar age, we lived in Kansas City and of course, were big fans of the KC Chiefs. We used to shout "Gooooooo Chiefs!" While making the gesture of throwing the hand and arm forward. She picked it up and joined in, hand motions and all, except she was saying "Gooooooat cheese!" Many laughs around that one at our house!
Loved the pictures, both of the cats and Hope. Yes we do have to watch what we say when little ones are in the house.
Whooopeee! Thanks for a great start to the day! Love the pictures of Hope -- give her my hug! And the cats are always laugh-givers! Hooray! we actually have some SUN today and I can't wait to get out in it on my way to the acupuncturist this morning! You sound as though you're feeling better! Hope so!!

Cats and kids seem to draw commenters out of the woodwork.
Poor Isadora! My middle daughter's cat had severe gum disease but has been in better health since all her teeth were removed. She's only four years old but has a high risk of developing FIP as her companion cat had it.
Hope is adorable - I'd love to see her victory dance.
Hmm, so the trick is to get Iza in the carrier and take her around the block. When you come back you wait for Siren to get curious and then close the lid! Or get the vet to make house calls.
Hope's hair is getting long and gorgeous. She is such a doll.
At least she does not scream MOTHER-F**KER...I say that a lot when my Giants screw up!
Dad, huh. Really?
Glad to see the update. I'll be cheering with Hope, and you.
But at least Hope is using the phrase in the proper context and not just out of the blue. That's gotta count for something, doesn't it?
Thanks for the smile. I needed it today.
Hope is slimming out and looking less like a toddler and more like a little girl. Except for the mouth, of course! ;-)
Out o' the mouths of babes...she is just too adorable for (those) words!
As for the cats, I haven't had to play the carrier game in a while, but Mr. must take pills 3x/day & that is a challenge. The other night we found him beneath the couch--slung as if on a hammock on the lining below the cushions (it's an old couch). Hope all is well with Iza!
Poor Iza, I don't blame her for running off. I usually grab Sibu first, then the carrier, or just take him in his harness.
Hope is so cute in her jersey.
I know we shouldn't laugh when children say those naughty words but sometimes you just can't help it can you? Isn't it amazing how when they are learning to speak the naughty words always come so easy! ;)
Just getting caught up on three weeks' worth of friends blogs. Was happy to see an update on the kitties. Wish you all the best for your playoff hopes - my Falcons flamed out in the first game, so good thing I am more of a college football fan and didn't get upset. Glad the cats are well. Mine are keeping the vet busy, but... still there. Happy New Year to you, Dianne.
Why is it that you cna spend hours trying to teach kids to say 'antidiestablishmentarialism' to no avail and yet they pick up swear words first time?! ;-)
I hope Izzy feels better soon and I hope you recover from your bruises. Yes I read down to see what I missed; I always do :)
Oh dear... kids pick up everything we adults say! She is a sweetheart though.
Hope Iza if OK now...Lovely shots of the cats.
Sorry your kitty is having vet issues. And if Hope was any more adorable she'd need a license.
Hope you're feeling better.
Oh my God I LOVE Hope in that Jets jersey. Although she is the enemy for today only.
I’m dreading my 8 hour car ride, 12 hour flight, then another 6 hour car ride with hotels, airports and customs all thrown in with two dogs and a cat. Say a prayer for me!
Football language happens here too. It's a great time to teach what is appropriate and where.
It might be a little bit naughty but it sure is cute. That is one of the hard things about those little ones, they are so gosh darn cute - who can discipline them?
Isn't it crazy how quick kids pick up THOSE words. I suppose because we're all sorry we said it in front of them and then say oops or make a face or whatever, so they know immediately there's something special about the word. I imagine it's hard not to laugh when she says that!
I hope your kitty gets better soon.
Oh yes..the cat carrier battles... Love them... Oliver has lost 3 teeth due to some cat thing and he's only 8....
