Well this isn't that.
I was Googling around for some writer's resources and happened upon on a quiz that tells what writer your work is most like.
You can check it out at I Write Like
I submitted two different pieces - one a rant about lawyers and disability and insurance companies; the second a sweet story about children and family.
In both instances I was told I write like William Gibson
I haven't read anything by Gibson since I'm really not interested in science fiction but perhaps I judged quickly. He did coin the term "cyberspace" in one of his short stories and that makes him cool. He is considered counterculture and edgy and both troublesome and troubled and well ...
Then I found a site all about Jane Austen's works. And another quiz.
Which Austen heroine are you? Find out by clicking on the pic ...
Take the Quiz here!
Guys - check out your feminine side. I think there's an Austen heroine in all of us.
And as always ...
And for struggling writers ...
There is Hope

I write like George Orwell and I'm Emma Woodhouse. hmmmmm.....
I'm like Emma Woodhouse? Who is she? And who is Jane Austen?
I'm Elinor Dashwood. Didn't do the author thing.
Kurt Vonnegut using my novel, The Quest
I write like Cory Doctorow (whoever the hell that is) and I decided that I am going to be like Hope because she is the greatest character I know. What a great picture. Hug her for me. j
Yes, Hope is awesome, and that picture shows it. I am Marianne Dashwood, so Linda, you and I are sisters!
That site says I write like Snooki. LOL I'm kidding.
With one submission it says Cory Doctorow who is a Canadian science fiction writer whom I've never heard of.
I tried it again and got Chuck Palahnuik which I'm okay with, but also wonder if that means I'm a bit more of a freak than I thought. His books are weird.
I pasted in three separate entries of a three part blog post and came up with three different authors. Who needs to be consistent anyway? ;)
Hope.. sigh!
"Remember when some dick of a teacher would call a pop quiz on Monday?
Bwhahahahahahaha! Yes, I DO remember that! We would have them at least once or twice a month.
I saw this writers quiz on someone's blog last year, but didn't take it myself. However, this time I did.
I ended up being Arthur Clarke. I have to google him because I have no idea who he is.
And ended up being Marianne Dashwood for the Jane Austin heroine. And brother let me tell you, I fit her to a T!
Fun post, lady Dianne!
And I LOVE the photo of Hope. What an adorable face!
((((( Hope )))))
X ya's!
My environmental education column Big Outside is written like James Foster Wallace; my romance Blackmail Bride is written like Ernest Hemingway; my logomania column like Jack London; and my Katz Tales column like Mark Twain.
Hmm, sounds out of my league!
I got the same as you in the Jane Austin quiz. Sorry I haven't been around much. Turned in my first draft of my thesis last week and have been working on mid-term papers. Looks like I have a breather for a few days, which means I have to do all the important things that I've set aside for the past couple of weeks. lol
Who could resist smiling at that happy face?
William Gibson? You're in fine company there! Love his work.
And Hope has the greatest smile!!
Hope has made my evening that's for sure! Have a great week!!
Sylvia
That's HOPE?? Good grief but she's growing so quickly! What a big girl! :)
I don't do quizzes. William Gibson, I think I've read some of his work. I'm a big science fiction fan.
and that picture of Hope is awesome!
I write like James Joyce! Hahahaha! Not sure how to take that.
Pattern Recognition is my favorite Gibson book .. you might like it, its not really SciFi .. more TechFi with a little future reality thrown in ...
Glorious Hope:-) Who could look at that beautiful face and not smile?
Apparently I'm ...Elinor Dashwood!
You are Elinor Dashwood of Sense & Sensibility! You are practical, circumspect, and discreet. Though you are tremendously sensible and allow your head to rule, you have a deep, emotional side that few people often see.
I am Catherine somebody from Northanger Abbey? I have no idea - I haven't read a lot of Austen. Lovely photo of hope though!
The WILLIAM GIBSON that came to my mind immediately was the playwright...A true genius of a man..."THE MIRACLE WORKER"....
I think that is who they meant you write like, my dear....You have such "heart"...It HAS to be him!!!!
I don't know who this other William Gibson is....Google the playwright!!! THAT'S who you write like, in my humble opinion.
I'm not going to tell you my results b/c I'm really way too old for both quizzes. But they were fun -- and it is all your fault that I didn't have a chance to visit any more of my favorite bloggers this afternoon ;>))))
I did the Jane Austen quiz quite some time ago and just like yourself, I'm Elinor. Somehow that's not who I thought I'd be like but I guess it's better than some characters!
I'll have to check out the writer's quiz though I'm pretty sure I'd turn out like neither Erma Bombeck or Stephen King who are two of my very favorites!
Ok, so I took the quiz and had to come back and tell you that I think it's got definite issues as it told me that I write like Anne Rice. Seriously? Anne Rice? I don't think so!
What a cutie-pie! I did that
"who do you write like" quiz, which I'm certain I saw on FOtM but now I can't find it. Anyway, I posted about it and gave you linky love! xxoo
