Ouch, Ow, Oy

What with the basement clearing and the wedding and endless BS in trying to straighten out healthcare I have been running around a lot for the past few weeks and it has just BAM! WHAM! caught up to me.

My balls are about the only things that don't hurt.

There's a lot to be said for pushing forward and soldiering on and mind over matter and all that jazz but I think I sometimes take it to extremes.

Even all the driving to SSA offices and weddings and my aunt's house and recycling centers has become too much

I know it's out of control when I have balance issues and when I'm so uncomfortable that I can't focus or concentrate or even remember what I'm doing while I'm doing it.

So I'm listening to my body and taking it easier.

Just because no one around me accepts my limitations doesn't mean I shouldn't.

thanks for listening

and as always, there is Hope

Take some time off, woman! The weather just calls for a bed and nice book :)
Oh Hope! How pretty!

Geesh, Dianne. Look after yourself. Try to relax for a few days. The work and world will still be there when you're better rested. Hugs to you.

Don't push yourself too much babe. Pace yourself! That's an order.

I'm sexy when I get all bossy like that, aren't I? ;-)

OK, time to cool it!! NOW!! Screw all that other stuff and remember, you are what matters! And, yes, definitely a dose of Hope!

Major Oy Vey! You need to slow down and relax before you put yourself into a "skilled nursing facility" for some rehab where I guarantee you they won't be skilled and you won't get any rest either!

The way I look at it lately, the things that we think we need to do will still be there at the time that we can get around to doing them. The clutter in the basement didn't show up all at once and it doesn't need to be removed all at once. And if it does, hire some teenage kids to do the hauling for you - heck, hire a local bum off the street and pay him in Mad Dog if you need to but don't cripple yourself doing everything yourself.

Take the cape off for awhile, Super Woman, and just relax!

Learning to relax is hard. We seem to connect it with being lazy, which is crazy. You need to rest.

Hope you feel 100% very soon.

Relax and let yourself recover from all your running around Dianne. Hope the aches and pains dissipate soon. x

Taking a much deserved rest sure is a good thing!
Sending healing thoughts your way. Feel better very soon!!! xo

I hope you are feeling much better soon, Dianne. I know at my house it's two steps forward and one back cleaning-wise. It sounds like you are really in over your head and could use some help. Not that I am any help. I am far away and can't even lift a milk jug anyway. I can sit around and be bossy, is about all. :)

no one around me accepts my limitations

IMHO, this is what you have to work on to change.

Use those balls of yours, bat your eye lashes and with a gentle but firm slap up the side of a head demand respect for your limitations.

Hope you feel better soon.

You are so lucky there is always Hope. She's wonderful.
I know how you feel. I was going to do some laundry this afternoon, and then I remembered I can only do one thing a day, then I have to stop and do nothing. I want to go out this evening, so I don't dare do laundry. I'm glad I didn't do it, but I can't figure out why I feel guilty.
Maybe "no one around me accepts my limitations"? That is SUCH a perfect observation. Thank you so much.

Bwhahahahhahahahahahaha!

I LOVE YOU, DIANNE!!!!

That cracked me the hell up, BIG time!

LOVE the Oy Vey sign! Brilliant!

And I 'hear' you in this post because I'm the same way. I push myself to extremes at times; thinking I'm Superman or something. For me, I think it's always been because I find it challenging to accept my limitations. I'm so stubborn that way.

((((( Dianne ))))))

X ya bunches!

P.S. adorable photo of Hope. Love her eyes!

You better be taking care of yourself! As your lawyer, my advice to you is to stretch before undertaking any strenuous endeavor, and liberal servings of alcohol. ;-)

Take a day off. Do nothing. Cuddle Hope.

Yes, there is always Hope. She's a balm to pain and suffering, and I do hope you get better soon. As Ellen said, take a day off, do nothing but cuddle Hope! :-)

Yes, take it easy and relax a bit (I know easier said than done). Hugs from this side of the pond.

This is a great time of year to hibernate for a while -- even if you didn't have all those other great reasons. Have a cup of tea and curl up under a blanket. Or if it's after 5 (somewhere?), maybe a cup of something elsle ;>).

Take care. Don't do anything for a while (except play with Hope -- that's good for ya!)

It's time to lower your standards of a neat & tidy house. Your son & DIL can do the heavy cleaning and you will just have to accept that it may not be done your way, but at least it is done. Rest & snuggle Hope. I wish your medical problems were solved as easily.

Dianne, sounds to me like you need to book a weekend or two at Chez Next Place. I'll let you know when it's available. Until then, I recommend sitting comfortably somewhere where you can watch birds and sip tequila until someone shows up to help you to bed.

Know how you feel! My unwind is to go to bed for two days, watch TV, and end with a swim. Cuddles to your Siren and Isadora.

When you learn how to accept your limitations or notice that others accept the fact that you have some, let me in on the secret as I sit here with a heating pad on my back. Is there something to be said for soldering on? To keep going no matter what? Is it heroic, stupid, foolhardy? I don't have answers, I just have questions...and a heating pad.....hugs to you...Michelle

Sometimes you have to put yourself first - and it seems you should be doing that much, much more.
I like your new profile photo:-)

Take is easy – you need to keep in good health for yourself but also for Hope. Relax, listen to some good music or read a good book or look at an interesting magazine – stay away from the News on TV – that would depress anyone.
