Striking Resemblance

James McCartney appeared on Letterman last night. The 34 year old son of Sir Paul looks a lot like Dad.

Dad is still one handsome guy.

Similar gestures

At the Ed Sullivan theater - James, not Paul

James has a pleasant enough sound, I wasn't overly impressed.

Paul was never my favorite Beatle. It was Ringo all through my youth, I had a thing for funny looking guys and then it was John for his activism and intelligent lyrics.

I think Paul has become greater as he gets older.

All good things for James.

Holy cow...the resemblance is uncanny. Almost like twins!

"Paul was never my favorite Beatle. It was Ringo all through my youth..."

Me too! Ringo was my favorite Beatle. And I have a secret to share with you...

....when choosing my Catholic Confirmation name, I wanted to choose the name RINGO, but since the nuns wouldn't allow it, I chose Paul instead, just so I could be a BEATLE!

HA!

X ya, dear lady!

Paul has held up really well, hasn't he? Where have all the years gone??? Surely, he isn't old enough to have a 34 year old son! Time flies whether you're having fun or not. Yep, Ringo and John were my favorites, too, same reasons! Hope your week is going well, Dianne! Hugs to Hope!

He definitely looks like his dad!

Never a Beatles fan but they are a part of my generation. Hope James will be successful as his father!

Yes he's 'the spit' (as we say here) of his Dad.

Sean Lennon is 'the spit' of John too. Have you heard Sean sing? You'd think it was John!

I bet James wishes he had as much hair as his Dad. To be totally honest I have never been into the Beatles. I'm gonna killed for saying that?

Don't hit me, but I was never a huge fan of Bealtes. But if I had to pick then Paul would be my fav :)
James needs to cut his hair short (top pic) though ;)

I think it's the droopy eyes that really makes them look the same.

Poor kid...with the hair loss looks older than his dad. As Ivanhoe said, he needs to cut it short, then it won't be as obvious. Ringo was my favourite too ;)

I remember, when I was 17, asking my brother (2 years younger) "So, what's a Beatle?" because I was listening to folk music and considering myself an intellectual. LOL
James certainly has his dad's eyelids!
My favorite Beatle was George, when I eventually figured out who was who.

I came to The Beatles late---I always loved Paul & John....The songs and with John, his fierce activism...!!
Paul's son---as everyone has commented, on his thinning hair---Must take after his Mom's side of the family, follicle-wise....I think he is talented...There is no way he can overcome such an iconic father---So, I hope he just stays true to himself and I think his talent will shine through...!

You can definitely see the resemblance.

it's those sloe eyes they both have... I was always always a John groupie. He got me from the first and Paul seemed so shallow in comparison. But only in comparison.

It's funny. Even kids who don't seem to look a lot like their parents can look a lot alike if you look a pictures when they are the same age. (Especially as kids) I look at some at my mother as a young child. If you look at my pics from the same age, we could almost have been twins.

Cool post. :)

Wow! Eerily similar, but dad still has the better head of hair! ;-)

I was a little too old to go nuts over the Beatles, but I really like their music now. It has held up well, and so has Paul!

Poor James did not inherit his Da's great mop of hair ...

Looks like James definitely got his Mum's hair and not dear old Dad's which is too bad.

I've not heard him sing so can't really give an opinion there one way or another so I'll take your word for it! I was always more of a Ringo fan myself!

It must be tough living in his dad's shadow (even for all the cash that he must have to hand). He certainly looks a lot like him but trying to make it in the music business is probably not a good move. Good luck, James.

I haven't heard James but he does look like a fair version of his dad! The Beatles had split up before I was born but that didn;t stop my first casette (at the tender age of 7) being the Greatest Hits of the Beatles :)

Oh dear, poor lad! Perhaps he'll wear a wig. I think it's time Paul stopped dying his hair or at least chose a more flattering colour;-)

Oh, they do look very similar!

I loved the Beatles! James is the spittin' image of his dad...very cool! I haven't heard him sing so can't comment on his voice but I do wish him all the best.
