Cookies and Crapola - Week 3

Let's start with a cookie in the oven. I think I have finally found a primary care physician. Now I just need to wait for the insurance company to confirm my choice, then wait for an appointment, then ...

After finally getting coverage for the first time in nearly 4 years it's so frustrating that it takes months to find a doctor.

It's not like healthcare is time sensitive or anything

I want to adopt Jennifer Lawrence. I didn't know much about the actress before the media circus for 'The Hunger Games' started. I saw her on the red carpet at some award show and thought she looked like every other tall blond actress in a tight dress. I was wrong.

She's incredibly funny and sweet and self-deprecating. She gave a wonderful interview to David Letterman. When asked about dealing with the red carpet she said she had to remember "to suck it all in" and was usually so nervous that she "acted like a chihuahua, shaking and peeing"

And what goes with cookies?
Ice cream of course

I said I could do it myself, I didn't say it would be easy

Have a good weekend everybody
Today is Chocolate Covered Raisin Day so have some, fruit is good for you.

I just downloaded The Hunger Games onto my iPad and figure I'll see the movie and then read the book. Jennifer Lawrence was so good in Winter's Bone I figured she would be excellent in this.

I do hope you get to see the doctor soon. I love your pictures of Hope, always.

Took college and high school grandkids to HUNGER GAMES yesterday. They loved it. I wish I had read the book first because it leaves a lot of questions that the book would have answered for me.

When we come to the States soon we are going to see the Hunger Games because my daughters are keen to see it. I'm not sure if I am or not, I'll reserve judgement until then.

Now i need some icecream and I don't even like it much!!

I gave the Hunger Games set to one of my grandsons for Christmas. I thoroughly enjoyed the excerpts I read.

I so hear ya on the frustration of finding a doctor that you like, and then waiting for the insurance company to confirm your choice because this is what my mother had to go through when she change companies.

Faaaaaaaabulous photo of Hope! What a CUTIE! And please tell her that Uncle Ronnie's favorite ice cream is CHOCOLATE!

Yummy! Yummy!

Have a wonderful weekend, dear lady. Aren't you lovin' this cooler weather?

Much X to you and the gang!

It really shouldn't be that hard to find a doctor but alas, it is. I hope that you're soon all set on your way to improved health - and care!

I know nothing about "The Hunger Games" other than everyone is talking about it. I think I missed the boat on that one but then again, my girls are past the "young adult" reading stage so they never tipped me off like they did with the "Twilight" series. Rumor has it no one sparkles in this series though!

Cookies, ice cream, and Hope - sounds like the perfect combination to get through any day!

Finding a doctor can be frustrating! I was lucky when I moved to Seattle -- found a great one within walking distance and then I moved! How nice it was of him to move to a new clinic a short bus ride away from my new home! Talk about luck! I haven't been to a movie in years, and I never watch TV except for the evening news, and even they were talking about Jennifer Lawrence! Hope looks to be enjoying ice cream! Give her a hug for me and hope you both have a good weekend!

Hope you really like the doc when you finally do get that appt.

I haven't read Hunger Games but the previews for the movie look good. It's going to rain this weekend, maybe we'll go?

Sweet photo! Would she be willing to share??

I saw that show with Dave and got the same vibe from the girl. Humourous self-deprecation is a rare and winning quality in young actresses.

Hope you get your medical ducks in a row soon.

I must have missed that episode of Dave. Frank forgot to nudge me awake.

Sending good vibes your way re your medical woes.

That chocolaty face.. adorable.

So glad you found a "primary"...I hope all goes smoothly.

I saw that interview with Jennifer Lawrence...She was enchanting! That first film of hers (I cannot think of the name---but she had an Oscar Nomination with it...) She was ASTOUNDING! Real, Simple, No Histriomics...This young woman is truly TRULY Talented. I know nothing about 'The Hunger Games'---in fact, it sounds awful, to me...But I know this: She is an extremely talented and incredibly interesting young woman...And I say BRAVO to her...

Oh...Look at dear adorable HOPE....She is so very special, in every way...
(((((((HUGS)))))))) to you both, my dear!

You are right about Jennifer Lawrence. I saw her on Letterman also and she seemed like a normal person.

Going to see the movie tomorrow. Wanted to read to book, but it has been out (in library) for weeks. I'll read up on the series later :)

J-Law is awesome. And Matt thinks she's a butter face. Can you believe that? He's so shallow.

Local paper's been full of Jennifer -- her grandparents live somewhere in the Ft Myers area...... they seem like regular people!

And speaking of grandchildren.. Hope is adorable in her icecream face!

Good luck with the Insurance Company -- we all need that.

It is so difficult to find a doctor. Much less a good one. Fingers crossed for you.

The Hunger Games are supposedly "young adult" novels, but with all the hoopla surrounding the movie I think I might have to break down and dedicate an afternoon to read through the first book. Might as well get hip to this thing before the movie comes out on blu-ray and I add it to my collection :-)

Classic ice cream face - love it!

I've seen some good press and I'm in the mood for a post apocalypse movie session: Escape from New York, the Running Man etc. This may be a worthy addition IF it has a schmaltzy ending! It's not like I'm looking for anything meaningful or significant for a movie marathon....

The Hunger Game series is awesome ... and that Hope, she is sweet enough to cover with kisses

Thinking and planning about cookies when one has medical challenges is a great way to say Ohhhhhhmmmmm. I read the Hunger Games and although I found it pretty violent I did find it a good read.

Don't move to Canada. It tookme almost a year to find a primary care provider who is accepting new patients. And each time you go, you get twenty minutes and that's it. If you have further issues, you have to make a second appt. and you have to go through your primary provider to get a referral to any specialist. So much wasted time!

Akelamalu said...

Hope looks even more adorable than usual with ice-cream on her face!

Reb said...

Halcyon is right, we have so few Dr's here that it is a joke.If you can get through at the first of the month you might get an appt. If not, you can't book for next month as "the book is not open for next month" the best you can do is come on the day your Dr is doing the walk in clinic and wait for hours.

I am glad that you have found a Dr though and hope you get approval soon. Hope is darling covered in chocolate. Don't know anything about the Hunger Games, so I guess I will have to read up on it before it comes to TV ;)
