Kennedy Center Honors

Happy Day After/Boxing Day/or just plain December 26th

Hope everyone had a happy merry everything.

One of my favorite year end events is the Kennedy Center Honors

This year the honorees are ...

Dustin Hoffman
Led Zeppelin
Buddy Guy
Natalia Makarova

and last but not least, a man I adore ...

Dave

Sexy and Sarcastic and Smart
Self-deprecating in a boyish way
A kind man who took care of a musician who was broke and needed cancer treatments
A businessman who paid his writers during the strike
He likes to play the fool but has a keen mind for social and political issues

I'm betting that it was excruciating for him to handle being honored. He has always battled with depression and feelings of not being good enough. He told his studio audience that he was waiting for the re-count.

He's more than good enough to me.

CBS will air the Kennedy Center Honors celebration tonight at 9 PM eastern time.

Bravo to all

Ohhh, thanks for the reminder! I would have missed it otherwise, Dianne. And he is a very sweet and humble person, isn't he? :-)

When he came out after the September 11 attacks and sat sown and just talked he calmed the nation. He is truly a great men. Funny and yet compassionate, and caring. I think becoming a father was the greatest thing that could ever have happened to him. Thaks for the post. I have had it on my calendar for ages. I will be watching with you.

Letterman rocks!

And you described him to a tee!

"He likes to play the fool but has a keen mind for social and political issues."

Love the photo of he and Obama!

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, dear lady!

X and hugs to you and Hope!

Dave is also one of the great all time cranks. Not the a-hole crank that Any Rooney was though. He's a charming crank. haha

Since this happened on Dec 2nd and there has no uproar from the press I assume everything went OK.

I think he is such a smart guy...Really Really Smart! And yes, he has had his share of lifes-troubles....He is a lovely flawed brilliant human being...I look forward to watching him Every Night, and I actually Laugh Out Loud, every night!

Frank has always watched him but it took me a while to warm to Dave. I've been watching alongside him for a couple of years now and I have to admit I'm getting to know more about him and enjoy the show. Thanks for letting us know the Kennedy Center Honors will be aired, tonight.

You can't see it, but I'm throwing out the "devil horns" in honor of Led Zeppelin's induction!

We caught the last part of the program; if he was embarrassed (as he likely was), he did not show it. My fave comedian since Carson...tribute to Led Zeppelin was cool, too. Stairway to Heaven, ahh!
Thanks, ma'am. Hope your Christmas was marvelous and your New Year the best ever!
