Golden Globes - The Next Generation

One of the traditions of the Golden Globe show - tonight at 9 on NBC - is to have Miss Golden Globe, a daughter of a past Globe winner who comes out with the presenters to herd celebrities and gather up open envelopes.

Occasionally a Mister Golden Globe is chosen as well. How/Why/When - I don't know and I really don't think it matters.

I love contrasts and that's why this year's Miss and Mister caught my attention.

Our Miss Golden Globe is Francesca Eastwood

Mr. Golden Globe is Sam Fox

I really hope Francesca doesn't get confused as her Dad does; I'd hate to see her talking to empty seats. It is  the Globes after all and everyone is drinking and moving about.

On the reality show her Mother threw together Francesca got a little over stimulated and set fire to a $10,000 Birkin bag. She told the press she did it because she likes Hermes better. Wow - those solid values Clint spews on about ...

Unlike Francesca, Sam is not in reality/Daddy's productions show business. Sam has a business development firm and also helps run his Dad's Parkinson's Research foundation.

Micheal J. Fox said he didn't really know why his son was chosen and simply hoped that Sam enjoyed the experience.

I believe Clint will be giving a prepared statement to an empty auditorium somewhere in Malibu.

I saw Michael J. Fox on Letterman---I think---and he spoke about his son being chosen to be Mr. Golden Globe....I know that these young people are chosen because they are 2nd generation to the "stars"....And I've always thought it was a rather lovely tradition.
I am looking forward to the Globes tonight. It is still the loosest of ALL the Award Shows, (Except for the Independent Spirit Awards--the newest kid on the block--held in the afternoon down on the beach in Santa Monica---ABYTHING GOES there....HA!) and seems like a lot more fun! I'm sure it is because 'booze' is available right there at each table...! Looser Lips, makes for more---shall we say----Unpredictable behavior. I don't know that the 2nd Generation gets to drink, but it should be an interesting evening Awards-Wise!

I knew nothing about either of these young uns but from what you've written, I'd say there's an interesting contrast between them for sure. I expect we'll be watching.. depending on what sports take priority here at Chez Frank. :)

I probably won't be watching this tonight, because you know me, I never watch TV. But after reading this post, you've got me very curious!

I was reading a little too fast in the beginning and read 'golden shower show'. I think that would be more entertaining.

I'll be watching. It's part of my cultural literacy awareness program. :)
Funny about the Clint kid vs the MJFox kid. So much for conservative family values.

I am amazed at how much Michael Fox's son looks like him. It borders on the eerie...

I missed the beginning of the show and did not completely 'get' the Talor Swift and Michael J. Fox son riff that Liz Lemon, er, Sarah Palin, er, Tina Fey did ..thanks!

I missed the show but I'm pretty sure your post is funnier than it was.

I love your comments. I agree with Sallie, as I missed it as well. I love Sam's mother!
