If you say something worthy - your voice can never be silenced ...

Be Part of the PEACE

I agree Dianne. We need to follow Mr. Lennon's advice and see what comes of it. Unfortunately, there are still too many people in power who see war as a money-maker.

We must never be silent. Each little voice for peace adds to the shout which is sometimes heard by even those who are deaf to to our cries.
Lets keep on giving peace a chance!

Yes, it is a matter of simply giving it a chance. A chance!

Agreed. We must speak reasonably and responsibly, and with respect.

Peace.

spartacus - I am hoping to see a renewed belief in diplomacy come January 20.

rob - one of my favorite quotes - I paraphrase - 'all it takes for evil to thrive is one good person doing nothing'

thaiandchani - one little step at a time, thank you for your visit.

linda - and with you :)
wow made me think of being at church when I was a kid. we ended the mass that way.
I LOVE you in your wonderful shirt!!

Peace to you and your family.
I found the Blog Blast links a little late but still managed to make a picture.
It's so important, if we all just try, like Lennon and you say... give peace a chance!!

Dianne said...

kay - I like to 'Imagine' - thank you :)

deborah - I have been viewing videos with Peace/Lennon/War/Humanity themes for days. There are many beautiful ones. Some were too long. This one just seemed perfect. I'm so glad you like it :)

crystalchick - never too late to get in on Peace :)
I'm trying ... Hugs Lady.

As the mom of five sons, I sure don't want my children to be drafted into some war on a God-forsaken shore.

That being said... John Lennon??? Ok, he was a little strange. I'm not sure that he was more popular than Jesus, though. Even if he did sell more records than Him. :p

Dianne said...

raven - I'm glad you like that quote, it's an original ;)

jeni - if we say please often enough maybe ...

daryl - on my way, wouldn't surprise me if we're on the same page :)

ivanhoe - you too!! thank you.

reb - thank you.
I love your new pic. A really cool lighting effect. Makes you look very powerful - which of course you are :)

mrs c - I'll never forget when my son had to fill out his selective service papers. I told him he wasn't going anywhere unless the enemies ship was at the NY Harbor and even then - I was going first to have some words with them
the Lennon-Jesus comment was taken out of context.

Peace to you and yours.

Wonderful sentiment on your globe Dianne!
I guess as I read everyone's posts today it still hits hard how many years I've heard Lennon's words and it still needs to be said.
But hopeful I am.

Such a complicated world. We have a friend shipping off again in about a week or two. He had three kids, two are three and under.

He's an officer. He's an awesome guy. He loves his country. I respect him greatly for all of that.

We want him to return to raise his new family -- soon and healthy.

He knows the issues over there. He knows why for the war. He does and does [not] agree at different levels.

Though, he doesn't really go into it. Government and all. What do our officers and soldiers really know?

Happy Thursday!

Great words of encouragement. May peace find its way to you and to us all.

P.S. I appreciated your comment at Raven's too.

Let us follow and lead by example... Now is the moment and we needn't let it slip into more division despite the efforts of those that would prefer it stay divided in order to achieve some illusion of power.

Power, an odd word when it is used to simply divide and conquer...

When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace. Jimi Hendrix

As long as there are gentle souls who dream of peace, there's a chance we will one day achieve it.

farmers wife - I think our soldiers probably know and feel more than we can ever imagine. It is shameful that he is being sent back - again. From what I have read these re-deployments aren't necessarily legal.
I have the utmost respect for all our soldiers - I wish our leader cared enough about them to stop using them.

jeff - thanks :)
I wasn't sure what to say at first, I seem to muddle things up lately, I think I'm over tired. But then I had to. and I'm so glad you knew where I was coming from.

bear - you too my friend

thanks dr. john - and I hope you're feeling well today too :)

poetryman - the wonderful dance of following and leading - I hope we all learn new steps :)

mymaracas - yes! gentle souls!! we need them.

Great post for blogblast for peace. I also enjoyed reading your posts below. This has been an exciting election. I'm still floating on the clouds.

I'm from NC so took special interest in your post about our senate race. I can't tell you what it meant to me to see the senate seat owned by Jesse Helms for so long which went to Elizabeth Dole after he retired, being won by Kay Hagan. It made me so HAPPY. My Carolina Blue skies are a little bluer this week. YES!

We all need to be at peace. A deep pervasive state of peace. As peace begins with us, as we grow in that sense, anything good is possible. The more peaceful world will exist as this notion begins with us and spreads exponentially. Everyone, everywhere!

John was sincere and I'll always remember him that last year discussing in a magazine interview how demanding it was to be a parent and bake bread and so forth. Very natural, and quite a thoughtful person I know all of us would have enjoyed chatting with. That's how I remember him, dianne! lol!!!!:)

So beautiful my friend,

I pray this is the dawn of a new age of peace...

Its gotta start in little things... like the way we talk to each other...the way we see each other...

This I'm hoping is something which having Obama as president will help with,

Winged peace to you,

Maithri

I'm still working my way through the many Peace Posts ... and yours is a marvelous reminder for us all. I hope you'll reconsider your decision to allow your voice to be silent after you've rested, for you speak for many … and we each say ‘Amen’.

Thich Nhat Hanh teaches that ‘Peace is in every step’ … a choice in every instant no matter what’s happening around or within us. As each of us blogs for peace in our own ways, we join our minds and hearts together to create this reality in our world.
Hugs and blessings,
