And I Won't Forget

When I first saw this segment of The Colbert Report I immediately grabbed the laptop to find the video to share but then I stopped - I was in the throws of Obama fever and visions of unicorns and rainbows danced in my head. I didn't want to ruin Martin's day or Barack's moment.

Then it seemed too late. I keep falling into the let's move forward mode. The thing is 2012 is only 3 years away and these mofo's are right now planning their attack. Hell - asshole Roberts had to fuck with the oath so that Obama had to do it again. Mistake or planned - the fucktards are loving it.

So I give you Christine Ebersole singing as part of a final buh-bye to W. Lord she has a voice!

I got fired up to post this after visiting my friend LIBERALITY
who turned me on to THIS POST .

You know folks if we forget we are doomed to repeat. So move forward happily and fearlessly but keep an eye on history because it has a nasty habit of repeating itself.

I loved the "Daily Show's" segment on the optimism of Tuesday's inauguration. Basically, they were making fun of themselves for always being cynical and skeptical. It was hilarious. They were all, "What's wrong with us already being cynical after 5 hours of a new President?" Anyway, if you haven't seen it, you should check it out.

Dianne...The thing about faith is it is committing oneself to the ownership of an end result of a present event.

Have faith that O has the wherewithal to establish sound principles that will withstand the inevitable assault from them who lust for power.

Have faith that every voice in the forest is contributing to the establishment of that same sound principle.

Have faith that the lessons of our recent American history are well and truly burned upon the collective psyche of the men and woman who took the past administration to task.

In short have faith that as history is being written that them of us who are writing it will in fact allow no shadow to emerge upon this new direction.

queen sized funny bone - if I get these granny panties in too much of an uproar they'll take over ;)

doggybloggy - are you sorry you were lured in? come on, ya know you love it ;)

sylvia - thank goodness! you can push me when I lose momentum

trannyhead - if the Daily Show ever loses it's cynicism I'll be in mourning. Haven't seen the show yet - I have them all on the DVR. Jon and I usually spend Saturday night together - he's such a hot date ;)

maithri - Christine has such a powerful voice. I saw her on Broadway a long time ago and have loved her ever since.
W and the drum is one of his finest comedy moments - he also tried to dance with them which was equally hilarious
hugs sweet doctor

mark - that's beautiful. And I do have faith - I just know there are many among us with short memories and lazy memories

bobbie - isn't he a fantastic writer! and so disciplined to do all that research!!
he's on my list now too!!
and check out Liberality as well, she posts some great stuff and is a fun and genuine soul.

Mama (that's what I'M calling you from now on BTW), you are going to howl when you watch Jon Stewart, I actually spewed my tea.

I LOVED this clip (had to watch on the Canadian version of Comedy central but it was well worth the hunt).

And thank you for pointing me to Dashiell's post. I felt like standing and yelling AMEN!

Did I tell you, when my Chicklet (the future head of the UN *giggle*) came home from scholl with me on Inauguration day she asked me to see Bush landing in Texas? I wondered why... so, you know me, I asked. She responded: "Mom, I just want to make sure he left Washington."

:)

The words "Let it Go" never sounded better... (you'll truly get this when you watch Jon).

Anndi said...

Um, school... sorry, I was excited ;)

Dianne said...

anndi - you can call me Mama any time, all the time
and the future head of the UN can call me GranMama lol!!!
Maybe I'll surprise Jon and watch him tonight instead of tomorrow night - he thinks I'm sexy when I surprise him -
I saw your comment over at Dashiells - it was beautiful - which of course didn't surprise me at all

And I look at it this way, THE President told the Chief Justice to haul his sad Supreme ass to the White House and do it RIGHT ... I wish he'd then said 'THIS is why I didnt want you to get the job'

Go watch Jon Stewart ... everyone is right you will LOL

mrs c - they are there!! they are! have faith - ;)

daryl - Jon and I have plans for this evening :)

The video wouldn't work for me. It said something about not being available in Canada and to search for it on the Canadian website. Huh?

We need to now move on...not forget the past, but we need to look to the future with just an eye on the rear view mirror.

I think it will hurt us if we turn around and stare out the back window as we drive forward...

Knight said...

Wow. Just.. Wow. Thanks for sharing the video.

Dianne said...

tammy - anndi said something about that in her comment above you - I guess the Colbert Show has a different site in Canada
that seems silly doesn't it

bond - an eye on the rear view mirror is fine - preferable actually
although I do enjoy the image of driving forward while looking at the back windown - clearly you have driven here in NJ ;)

knight - you're welcome!! I thought it was spectacular - all the clips perfectly insync with the song and Christine is just fantastic
I especially love what she does after all the Gonzalez clips -

Thanks for the link to Dash's post. All I can say to that is WOW. He said a lot of stuff I've been thinking.

I want to move on to the business of fixing what's wrong around here. It sure would be nice to hold some of these criminals responsible.
