It's a Small World

One of the things I enjoy most about blogging is meeting new people. There are so many interesting and talented people here in the Internet tubes.

Shortly after posting the 'Elephant In the Room' I got an e-mail from a lovely person named Robert. He linked me to a song he had written and recorded about his feelings while visiting a zoo. He urged me to keep up the good work.

I loved the song. I told Robert it had a doo wop 50s quality to it and was rewarded by his saying I had a good ear. I usually have a terrible time describing music beyond love it/hate it so that made me feel good.

Robert also shared with me a poem he wrote called 'Dog' - it's sad and hopeful, heartbreaking yet comforting.

You can hear the song HERE

and read the poem HERE

Thanks Robert for reaching out to encourage me to continue my work for animals and thank you for sharing your words and music.

Thanks for sharing that. I've had people contact me privately about posts I've written. It's quite rewarding.

What a sad sad poem. Too bad I could not comment there :o)

I know you will keep up the good work and fight for those who cannot do it for themselves.

Love & hugs,
I.

When you get an email about a post from someone new to your blogging world, it gives you that warm fuzzy feeling we all want, but are afraid to admit.

Keep up the good work.

Hey Di! Thought you might enjoy this bit of synchronicity. With no prodding from me and no mention of your previous post here, my daughter's latest research topic for English is: "Why Animals Should not be used for Entertainment Purposes." When she was telling me some of what she had found while doing her research--and how horrified she was by her discoveries--I said, "That's why I would never take you to the circus when you were little." At any rate, I thought you should know that your vibes are reaching far out into the Universe. :)

I think the whole "new people" aspect is one of the BEST things about the internet at large and blogging too!

For example, I met you!

That was a sad poem indeed. But the end comes to all dogs and people.

lisa - as cool as you are sweetie ;)

ivanhoe - I'm not sure how that site works but I'm going to e-mail this link to Robert so he sees the comments

CG - it does! and it inspires - for instance - I have learned a lot about good photography from your shots

raven - made me cry too but it was good tears

bond - yep! the fuzzy feeling. plus it feels good to know the animals have more friends

lisa - as much as I'd love to believe my vibes were reaching that far I'm sure in this case it's your incredible parenting. and thru her paper she'll pass it on - and that's wonderful.

daryl - thanks!! I like that notion

deborah - he is :)
I done the 50s thing too

kay - love ya walking girl!!

dr. john - that was why I found it comforting, there was a grace and dignity about the way he handled the dog's last moments
