Guess Who Came Home

My grand daughter Hope Mia came home today.

I had the urge to decorate a bit ...

It takes teamwork to transport a baby ...

She looked like a drunken sailor ...

She settled in on the sofa right away ...

And appears to be right at home ...

I have so many posts I want to do...
Reactions to the Michael Jackson Memorial.
Sarah "Quitting is God's Work" Palin - lord help me but I had to listen to this idiot's speech many times at the hospital. I begged the security guard to shoot the TV.
And last, but never least in this asshat world, NY Congressman Peter King and his comments about MJ. King is a vile, hateful, ignorant and loud man who shoved his way to the limelight on the ghosts of 9/11 victims. Apparently this piece of crap has a thing about dead people, talk about perverted.

But for now Hope is most important. What a perfect name.

Thank you for all the lovely comments on the last few posts here and on the photo blog. I'm grateful to have all of you to share this with.

While on the subject of wonderful children - I want to make good on a promise I made to my friend Emperor (Mrs C's son). He writes Wordzzles using his spelling words. I told him I would link him and ask all of you to stop by and read his delightful story. Take a moment to encourage a young writer by visiting him HERE .

Hope us going to he one of the luckiest little girls alive. Spiked by her left winged Nana. But hey that's okay. Anyone that says her grand baby looks like a drunken sailor us okay in my books. Great decorations. And yeah we need you back to your rants so I can point out where you are so wrong. ROFLMAO. I'll visit the other blog tonight after work. Is Hopes middle name maybe Nancy, Barbara, Betty, Maime, Pat? Aloha

There could be no more perfect or beautiful name than Hope.

No need to rant about anything for a while. Just bask in her beauty.

Everything about this is beautiful. Welcome to the world Mia! You already have made it a better place. We need you!

I have read Emporer's wordzzle and think he did very well. I left a comment for him. I hope he receives many more.

thom - she really did look like a drunken sailor, hat all messed up, all in white
her middle name is Mia - I believe it means "left = right" in Greek ;)

bobbie - I'm so glad you like the name! and thank you for visiting for Emperor, he's a cool kid

fran - thank you!! if ever there was a time when Hope was a suitable name it is these days

Melli said...

Oooooooh! The Princess found a NAME! Hope Mia! How pretty! Yes, I honestly believe every child in the universe COULD (or maybe should) be named Hope! They ARE our hope! She does NOT look like a drunken sailor! She looks bootiful!

mielikki said...

she's gorgeous, and the name is perfect. Many many MANY YEARS

The Peach Tart said...

That's one of my favorite names. She is gorgeous even though she does look a little like a drunken sailor...but in the cutest way.

Hope! A Puritan name! Very pretty. She will definitely need some prairie dresses and bonnets when she starts to toddle. She can pass them down to her little sisters Faith and Charity. :]

Bless you for linking. Emperor had a hard day today as he reacts badly to bug bites. They swell up and get hot and hard (hey, you, no comments from the peanut gallery). I had to take him to the doctor... where he also failed his eye screening and will need glasses.

He's pretty mad about it. But he found the comments in his box and feels a little better, if still a bit itchy.

WELCOME HOME HOPE!!!

You precious little thing, you!

Oh, and don't forget...

...I'm Uncle Ron!

X to you and your family!

Pictures of your beautiful grandbaby work just fine.

I like the teamwork photo. It kind of looks like they just pulled her out of the back cargo bay. LOL!

She looks like she is pretty comfy there.

jay - she seems to like her home, and she just spit up on me - it's so cool LOL

natalie - it is a good name for so many reasons - I don't want to become boring but I probably will post a lot of Nana stuff for a bit, I'm glad you like it

There actually are some things that take precident over ranting, like precious new grandbabies.

I have avoided the Sarah Palin and MJ topics, but I just spouted off over on Sylvia's blog about MJ. And Sarah, well she just set herself free. Free to do anything she wants. Lord help us.

But enjoy your baby. You can't make up those first days if you miss them tending to the world's woes.

Cherie said...

Hope Mia, what a beautiful name. And now she and her momma are home safe and sound where Siren and Mia ... Hey wait a minute ... Was this a blatant attempt to get the baby on Mia's good side. ;)

CG said...

What a lovely baby and such a perfect name. I'm thrilled for you, Grandma!

the walking man said...

Wait just one minute here...I was a drunken sailor and I was never THAT cute.

As for the rest...enjoy the kid before you go and get your dander all up again, the world is still full of shitty people and one more good one so focus on the one for awhile kiddo.

Schmoop said...

Cute Baby. Not very often that one sees that. They're usually all wrinkled and what not. Congrats. Cheers Di!!

Patti said...

Beautiful name for a beautiful baby.

Congratulations to all! I'm happy for you.

Hilary said...

There was a wee sailor named Hope
Who slept drunk as a skunk on a slope...

Nah, she's too young for limericks. ;)

Geesh, she's a beauty. :)

Dianne said...

cloudia - she is a gem, we were calling her the Hope Diamond :)
thank you

linda r - if ever there was someone who needed less freedom it's Sarah ;)

cherie - Mia was originally going to be her first name but that would mean she was named after someone that Jeffrey did not feel deserved the honor. He compromised on the middle name
Mia the cat was given that name by the rescue people, it's actually what made me notice her. I was going to take 2 kittens and then saw Mia - I assumed it was a sign from (at that time) a baby yet to be

cg - thank you so much!!!

walking man - I bet you were - and are - extremely cute

matt-man - I think that's why Hope refused to come out the traditional way, she knew C section babies look better

patti - thank you for all your warm and wonderful comments

hilary - she's my grandkid!! never too young for a little rowdiness ;)
Jeffrey already told her that she's going to learn "all the good stuff" from me

What a beauty and a wonderful name. I just hope the last name doesn't start with an "S" - we wouldn't want her to have to wear Pinafores all the time ;)

Hilary said...

REB! That was brilliant. :)

Dianne said...

nessa - hope says thank you :)

bond - I've been having some browser issues, your blog often doesn't open for me
I did visit the other day and wasn't sure my comment went thru
Oy!!

ivanhoe - I am beaming! thanks :)

crystal - I'm glad you came by, thank you

daryl - xoxoxo from Hope to Aunt Daryl

LOVE your Welcome Home Decorations, my dear....And Hope Mia is BEAUTIFUL! How thrilling that she is home. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU!

I'm with you on the subjects you want to cover, at some point--PALIN...OY VEY! I couldn't follow her incoherent speech, could you??
And that stupid King...HELP US AND SAVE US from dangerous jerks like him!
I thought MJ's Memorial Celebration very moving and beautiful. So very many great things about it. His little daughter broke my heart---so tenderly spoken.
