One Month With Hope

Hope celebrated her one month birthday yesterday. It was a free for all of spit up and poop and breast sucking. Just like a party at Bret Michaels' place.

I'd like to share some of the things I have learned from/about Hope in the past month.

Many good things start out in a dramatic, scary manner. Hope did not feel like traveling out the standard way and so an emergency C-Section was needed. She had to spend a few hours in recovery to make sure all was well ...

She immediately let us know what she thought of that ...

She may be sassy, but she's sentimental too ...

Hope insists that I appreciate the color pink ...

Yet she is down to earth enough to sport the drunken sailor look ...

She maintains a view of wide eyed wonder ...

Even though she has already starred in her own TV show ...

Hope exhibits a talent for impressions ...

Elvis ...

Churchill in a pissy mood ...

the more subtle impression of a pile of laundry ...

She really is in there ...

Although she's not a diva Hope does require a small entourage ...

She appreciates Nana's shoulder ...

And shares Nana's dedication to Power To The Babies ...

As she conquers all the new things she'll learn in Month Two.

What's her position on the Cash for Clunkers program?

And, is she excited about season 3 of Mad Men starting in a couple of weeks? ;-)

I believe that you are the very first grandmother that I have ever heard refer to her granddaughter as having that pissy Churchill look!

Thank you for sharing the many faces of Hope; she's a doll!

mahala - it is so good to see ya girl!!
my heart just swells every single time I look at her, it's amazing

jay - she believes all people should be given at least one pink tricycle
and she hopes Louie Lamb and Ellie Elephant do guest spots on Mad Men - plus she LOVES the zoftig red headed woman

stitch - thankfully nothing was wrong - she just simply did not approve of the birthing process and wanted to be picked up ;)
thank you for your kind words

linda - this kid is going to have a really good sense of humor - about the world and herself LOL
she was in her stroller for the first time and I came around the corner and was greeted by that look
it is hilarious!!
plus she sometimes growls when making that face!!!!

akelamalu - they do grow so fast
my DIL want more kids, my son has always wanted just one
we'll see what happens
I'm just cherishing every moment I spend with her

Happy One Month Hope. You are a blessing in disguise. You have made your Nana a very happy woman, however I miss all the Blue Bellied Ranting she does. Just adorable. What's her views on the health care system? Aloha

Lol - seeing a creature so sweet and adorable has definitely brightened this person's day :-)

And that's no mean achievement with what's outside the window at the moment ! (the weather gods are attempting to prove whether or not you can have standing water in mid-air)

What a great nana you must be.
What a lucky little girl!

Oh Dianne! This post was so great -and really shows how Hope is wrapping everyone in the household around her little pinky with her many different looks -from laughing for her audience, to a bit of disdain maybe (i.e. a disgruntled Winston Churchill -loved that one!) to snoozing oh so peacefully on Grandma's shoulder! Isn't it just amazing to watch the transformation taking place -not just in her but in everyone around her too, those who cater to her every whim at this point in time.
As always, I repeat myself and tell you to just enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
And thankfully, there is Hope!

What a little love she is. By the way, your RSS feed doesn't seem to be working in bloglines - I thought you'd gone quiet (yes, I *know*....), hadn't seen a post from you in ages. I'll remember to check more often if they don't appear there.

Beautiful montage. I can't believe it's been a month already. Keep up the pictures, I gotta get my daily dose of perfect baby! (PS - love the power to the babies, if only it were that simple!)

Bind this post in a small booklet as a future story book for Hope. She will love your descriptions and you can use it to teach life lessons about Elvis and Churchill. It is spectacular as is Miss Hope.
