Thanksgiving Eve Smorgasbord

The images in the previous post came from ...

what can I say, it amused the hell out of me.

I cooked most of yesterday. The pasta boiled and the meatballs sizzled ...

And the Ziti came together nicely ...

Hope went to the grocery this morning. The store was very crowded and busy ...

So Nana read her stories and then we played with her faces doll and then we sang songs and then we played supergirl and then we watched the squirrels from the window and then we changed diapers and then we changed clothes and then we had our bottle and then we changed everything again and then we sang quiet songs and then ...

I wish you all the peace and love I feel when Hope presses her face close to mine as I sing to her. I wish you all the joy I feel when she smiles.

Happy Thanksgiving

I love how the silvered door handle goes up his nose just that little bit. Lovely truck btw :) One of those campaigns the ad ppl didn't think all the way through.

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving. Now of course, I have to look up recipes for Ziti, it looks so good.

The look on Hope's face is how I feel when I have been shopping too.

What a beautiful post, Dianne. Hope--and babies and children in general--is what it's all about, isn't it? They make anyone's life bountiful. :)

And a very Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, my friend. Your smorgasbord looks divine--but I need recipes, girlfriend! Either that or send me a plate via Fedex. It all looks so good! :)

I cooked today. Escargot, French Canadian pork stuffing, balsamic glazed pearl onions, and green beans with capered tomatoes and walnuts are my contribution to tomorrow's dinner this year. :)

Hope's expression in that first of the two photos is just priceless!

Wishing a very happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Dianne. Enjoy your crew. :)

I made ziti tonight, though mine doesn't look as good as yours Dianne!
I got happy goosebumps reading about how Hope makes you happy. Children are such a blessing. I love all the children in my life. To me they represent hope for our future so I can see how Hope's parents named her Hope!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Hope & the rest of your family!

Hi Dianne!

First, thank you SO MUCH for explaining the photo in your previous post because I was thinking...WTF???

OMG....you're HYSTERICAL!

Ok...so, I'm sitting here after having already eaten my dinner; looking at your DELICIOUS food photos with saliva dripping out of the corners of my mouth and wanting to DEVOUR both the meat balls and the ziti. HOLY SHIT...they look ORGASMIC!!

I tried scratching and sniffing my computer monitor, but it didn't work.

And OMG...the photos of Hope are beyond precious! Need I tell you how I HOWLED after reading your caption and then seeing the suprised expression on her face??

Wishing you, Hope, Mia, Siren, and your family the Happiest of Thanksgiving Day's!

I love ya, dear lady!

You're the BEST!

X

I knew I was missing something obvious. Do you have any idea what you’ve just done to me with those pictures of food? I don’t get a Thanksgiving for the second year in a row. There are no Turkeys to buy over here. No side dishes either. I can’t get good ground beef, only ground pork. No manicotti or mozzarella, so I can’t make most of my Italian dishes either. I’ll stop complaining now if you mail me some food….

Beautiful photos of Hope again; you are a lucky, blessed, happy woman!

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

I dunno that I've been jealous 10 times in my adult life (and that's going on two years now) but I felt it when I read this.

I may have to adopt a grandchild. And if I do, I'll explain to the poor, befuddled darling that it's all your fault!

;)

Beautifully said, Dianne. :)

Hope looks like she feel about shopping and crowds just as I do! I believe I've used that very same expression myself a time or two!

Even though I am still stuffed to the gills, all of that food looks great! I hope that you and yours had a very wonderful Thanksgiving!

Here it is -1 a.m. on "Black Friday" and I'm still stuffed from dinner which was at 2 p.m., dessert (pie) at 9:30 p.m. (because the turkey knocked me out) but that pasta sure does look darned good to me.
And just a little bit of grandma words here -as I'm sure you've already figured out but I have to say 'em anyway, each day just gets better and better with grandchildren to bless it!
Tonight, Maya came out and hopped in bed about 8:30 -I was just waking up from my nap -and she curled up beside me, put her head on my shoulder and was asleep in about 5 minutes. But before she fell asleep, as I kissed the top of her head, I told her that I had missed her not being there beside me and she said "I missed you too, Gram!" Made my day complete then with just that one sentence, ya know!
Hope you had a great day and I know you had oodles of things of the "thankful" variety!

Someone should set that kid in the truck free.

The ziti looks almost as good as to eat as Hope. Those cheeks are so kissable. And her wide eyed look melts my cold NewYawka's heart
