It sits on the edge of a gas station at a really busy intersection. The kind of intersection that backs up and you have to wait for the light to cycle through at least twice before you get anywhere.
I have made up a million stories about this car. From the mundane - owner needs to sell it to save the gas station. To the sublime - it is the get away car of old time gangsters.

The other day I noticed ...
... what I decided were bullet holes.
A whole new set of stories to get me through traffic.
A REMAKE of the Bonnie and Clyde story is planned for next year.
The 1967 CLASSIC is one of my favorite movies.

What a great car! I can see your brain cells going into gear every time you see it.
My father worked in a bank, and his car sat outside on a day when there was a bank robbery. The car sustained a bullet hole, just sitting there, and we made the most of it afterwards.
That's very cool. I'd suggest asking the gas station owner about the car..but that might ruin the traffic daydreams. :)
That is a great car. I make up lots f stories while I'm in my car, too.

Oh My God! I love that car, Dianne! I love that it's orange! LOL! It definitely looks like it belongs to gangsters--or pimps.
Not to stereotype New Jersey or anything, but I'm thinking it was a mafia car. Some dude got gunned down by a rival mafia family soldiers while out running errands. Possibly just buying some apples and oranges at a fruit stand. ;-)
I love the old movie as well. I hope they won't mess up the new one. Keep making up stories :o)

Bonnie and Clyde is one my all-time favs! I clicked over on the link you left for us and saw the remake cast. I can SO see Hilary Duff as Bonnie and Cloris Leachman as Cunie Barrow - what a hoot!

You have a creative mind that seems to lean a bit toward boredom. I hate to bust your dreams but I think the bullet holes are just rust holes.
That said I figure you deserve the truthful facts regarding said car. John the owner reports his cousin; Jerboa was out after those pesky coyotes that have been getting after his chickens. As the coyotes jumped over the fence to escape Jerboa snapped of two quick shots and realized they were in direct line with John’s restored beauty. John realizing what happened beat Jerboa within an inch of his life.
John realizing his sin and decided to remedy it by calling his best friend and local veterinarian Ezekiel to patch up Jerboa. Ezekiel turns out to be a low down no good blackmailer. John is selling his car to pay off Ezekiel. Now you know the truth.

Why don't you e-mail this car to the production company of the remake. If anything, you might get an invitation to the opening for your entry! ;)

I’ve loved just about every version of Bonnie and Clyde that’s been made and there were quite a few. I’d love to see a remake. I just love gangsters and gangster films. Who would you want to star in a remake?

Lovely old car I can see where it would stir the imagination. Sadly, the "bullet holes" are probably fakes, you can get them as stick ons for a "custom" look. Yeah.
Not sure I can see Duff in that role, but, they could have chosen someone worse. Besides, when was the last time an original idea was filmed anyway?

Yep, them looks like bullet holes to me. I'm suspecting any number of the above senarios could be true. And all much better than the truth.
Great car! If I were planning a life of crime, I do not think I would paint my getaway car such a vibrant color. But it is so awesome, maybe no one would suspect!
I can still remember my parents taking to the drive-in movie out in Clovis, New Mexico to see "Bonnie and Clyde"; I was in 5th grade I believe but I remember the part in the movie where Bonnie gets a porcelain doll figurine and is talking about wanting to have fingernail polish like the figurine does. Tragically she never does, of course, but that's the part that really stuck with me. I doubt a remake will be anywhere near as good - even if it were to have that snazzy orange car in it!

WHY? Why would anyone want to re-make a film that was ground breakingly brilliant?? Sometimes I think the ideas that come out of Hollywood along with the decisions are ALL made by people on drugs! The financial people, too!

Of course, just like I would expect. Like me, you let your imagination out to do what it does so well as often as you can. It's why you write so wonderfully and why you get animated by the issues that matter.

I suspect the truth will never be as fascinating as your imagination .. and a remake of Bonnie & Clyde? OY. I cannot imagine a remake will be good or even some close to how good the original was.
I'm surprised it's taken them so long to do a remake of this. I'm not against remakes per se, but for me the Arthur Penn original was about as perfect in every way as a movie can be. Are those real bullet holes?? I saw a car once with several bullet holes in it, but one of the was starting to "peel off" - decals!! And what a great color too, Creamsicle orange - hope it has a vanilla interior!

There was a car that I noticed for years. I loved it! When I turned 16, my mother found out who owned the car and made an offer. '66 Mustang, red with a black vinyl top. The guy that owned the car had died and his brother sold it to my mom. He said he thought his brother would like it that someone that loved it from afar for so long was driving it.
Luckily we sold it before I began wrecking everything that I drove.
