Woody The Squirrel

I was waiting at a light last week trying to catch a shot of the river when I noticed something in the fence. See that object right after the third post?

The harder I looked the more I thought it was a squirrel. It never moved and I was already thinking of how I was going to park the car and make it through the snow to help the squirrel.

With the assistance of my zoom I realized ...

It was Woody.

So how did Woody get there?
Did a tree goddess put a spell on him?
Perhaps some wild sculptor added a bit of art to a barren fence?
A bored yet creative child?

These are the things I ponder.

You either have way too much time on your hands to think about all kinds a goofy stuff or, your vision is deteriorating rapidly like mine is!
Need to spend more time up close and personal with Hope is what me thinks about your vivid imagination!

How funny. I think it looks very much like a squirrel.

I think he grew there and got chopped off later... I had a fence one time that a bunch of vinelike stuff grew through...

LOL... woody the non-squirrel. Great shots and great question!!

Good one! The tree elves have a sense of humour! :)

OMG! This is too good! You had me there!

I love the stupid squirells and I like to think it was a fairy spell. They can be quite bothersome, even though they're cute.

As I'm reading this I'm thinking, "I hope she has gloves just in case the squirrel doesn't take kindly to a Good Samaritan stopping by" and then you get me with Woody!

I think Doc may be right, that may just be the lone remainder of a mighty tree that once stood at that spot and Woody is the only branch left of the family tree!

Bwhahahahahahahahaha!

OMG, Dianne...you are a RIOT!

When I saw your post on my reader I got so excited because I thought you had posted photos of my second favorite animal...the squirrel.

Then when eagerly I scrolled down to the last photo I DIED LAUGHING!

How funny is that!!!

"Did a tree goddess put a spell on him?"

That's exactly what it looks like, too!

Thanks for the great laugh, dear lady!

X ya!

it does capture the essence of squirrel. I'd have been fooled too.

LMAO, this totally reminds me of a tree at my mom's house this last summer. They have 2 or 3 giant trees in their front yard that are filled with squirrels. One day my little brother was getting the mail and looked up to see a freaking squirrel HANGING OUT of a hole in the side of one of the trees. The end of its tail apparently had gotten stuck inside or something and the squirrel died hanging out, upside down. And it was so far up that they couldn't get the body down. So the squirrel was there for a long while.

It made quite a conversation piece. Sorry to tell a whole story, LOL, your "squirrel" reminded me exactly of ours. Glad yours wasn't real.

a raven died once on our steps in Brooklyn
I had to go pick him up and bury him while my elderly Italian landlady screamed about vendettas and said the rosary

grayquill - hehehehehehe

Methinks perhaps you ponder too much! ;-)

I do believe that is the result of mating a chain link fence with a twisted ficus ... rare but it happens .. ;-)

My darling, what you must do is stop pondering!!! I have squirrels in the tree outside of my window that hang by their feet. Just hang, nothing else. Stupid squirrels.

It is so interestimg when these kinds of 'opyical illusions' happen to you...They seem to happen to me quite a bit and they always involve Animals....I'm glad it wasn't a Squirrel....But, a good question, as you said, How did that wood get there?
LOVE The pictures, my dear.

Funny. That zoom saved you a trip through the snow. I never trust my eyes and rely on binocs before I attempt rescue.

That sure is interesting!
Keep pondering.
I am very behind in visiting but am trying to catch up some. Hope is soooooo precious and adorable. How wonderful for you!
And Isadora... beautiful. I'm sure you and Siren will enjoy a new personality around the house.
Have a nice weekend. :)

Ha! I do that all the time too. I'm certain I see something cool and zoom in just to find that it's a plastic bag or something. Woody is far more interesting than any of what mine turn out to be. :)
