Stain-Mata

When I got back from my photo trip to the gardens on Monday I noticed a deep black stain on the left leg of my khaki slacks - it looked like tar or grease. I assumed I had brushed up against something in the gardens.

I freakin' killed myself getting the stain out - the only reason I have a photo of the results is that my niece refused to believe I got it out so I e-mailed her proof.

Not perfect but good enough. I only wear them to do errands or to schlep around taking photos. Plus it's nearly the end of summer and next summer I will be a size 6 once authorization for my full body transplant comes thru.

I wore the same slacks Wednesday. And look ...

I checked the car, the bottom of my shoe (sometimes I rub my leg while sitting at red lights) and everywhere else I could think of. No tar. No grease. No paint.

Last night I wore my chambray capris (so very Holly Go Lightly) and when I got home ...

WTF!

All stains are in the exact same spot on the left pants leg.

WTF!

Please - whoever is trying to send me a message - just call, e-mail, tweet.

How very bizarre.

Weird. Reminds me of bike chain grease. I always manage to get that stuff either on my pants or on my leg when I ride.

I sat here trying to intuit the source of the grease stain, but nothing happened, so I decided to congratulate on a job well done, getting that grease out!

Oh...I love you!

First of all, brava on getting that stain out!

This is SO strange though. I mean where could this be coming from? I too sat here trying to intuit the source of the grease stain, but nothing happened. But, if something comes to me I'll email you, ok?

Wishing you a spot-free weekend, dear lady!

X ya!

Weeerd! I used to get stains on the sleeve of my good "career girl" blouses from the seat belt in my car. Now that I don't care any more, it doesn't seem to happen. Or maybe its because I don't wear carrer blouses anymore.
Hope you find out -- that stain removal is a drag....

I can't even come up with a smart ass suggestion for what is causing this. WTF indeed!

The bottom of your purse... do you set it on your leg when you are seated in a public place?

Well heck, at least if these stains were showing up in the form of the Mother Mary or Saint Christopher or someone you could sell the darned things on eBay and pay for that full body transplant so much easier!

I'll be interested in finding out what your left leg is getting into - the ghost of a grease monkey past perhaps? Got any interesting skeletons in the garage???

I think that you are resting the bowl on your left leg after taking a hit. The same thing used to happen to me. Just grab some pipe cleaners and rubbing alcohol and get to work.

Sorry, I felt the need to continue in the vein of your last post.

Working out where the source of these annoying marks is too difficult - just wear black will ya!

ellen - bizarre pretty much describes my entire life

fermicat - and weird is another descriptor for me ;)

DJan - at least the scrubbing is good exercise

ron - ahhh yes, a spot free weekend
well it started with Hope throwing up on me so who knows

sallie - I don't miss career girl blouses, I much prefer tees
maybe that's it!! I just won't wear pants :)

jeff - WTF covers so much so nicely

mrs C - good idea but yes, I checked my bag

linda - since it started at the gardens maybe PotHead man is sending me messages

scott - that would be a viable possibility if I still did/was able to sit in the yoga position ;)

rob - I love black!! but it's 100 freakin' degrees and I'm hot flashing as it is

Look around the seat of your car. Could you have transferred something grease-wise there inadvertently? Otherwise, yes that is really weird.

I love it that you're so confident! LOL

Hi Dianne! How perplexing! If it is happening when you use the car then purposefully get in and out and watch where your leg is bushing. I am betting it's something weird like your leg brushes the car sill or dashboard or something where a spot of grease is, but shouldn't be there. Either that or just wear black until it stops rubbing off on ya! ;-)

Weird! You did very well getting the original stain out. Think I'll inform Fortean Times about this.

Car door?

Listen, when you get that body transplant auth, lemme know how it goes, 'K? I'm thinking about getting one, too. ;)

Well, that is downright mysterious, isn't it? Where do you suppose that is coming from??? You need "Miss Marple" or "Poirot" to decioher this weird mystery stain thingy....!

Oh yes, I need the body transplant, too---And hopefully not only will I be a size 6 but my Hip won't hurt anymore...(lol)

There's still a stain on my mini-jumper (long sleeve t-shirt) from when I'd use it when cycling ... You can probably guess where it is ;-) Stain has valiantly resisted 10+ years of washing machine.

Same with my cricket whites, they are steadfastly refusing to go clean !

I was going to suggest your purse but I see you have already checked that. Could you possibly be wearing a bracelet on your left arm that marks your pants when you swing your arm? Or do you cross your right leg over your left and you shoe could be rubbing your left leg? This is an exciting mystery and we hope you will remember to tell us when you solve it.

I see a cute snoopy'ish dog in the second picture.
I'd say just wear it like you paid big bucks for it to look that way(like the torn jean craze). You may start a trend.
Either that or drive naked till you get where you are going and dress there.

"Full body transplant" very funny.

Those stains are definitely a sign.

Nancy Drew here .. did you look at your cane? Left side.. and the car door? Not the inside or outside .. that part thats between .. here someone might have greased something to do with the lock?

Ken said...

How can it NOT be somewhere on the car? Maybe on the door.

I am now worried about myself I just saw your last post and it remminded me of how connecting dots is important. My last comment to you on my blog will make you laugh or cry. I am such a dough head - every one worry.
Now the stain. Left leg. hmmmmm...lets problem solve. Is this the pocket area? If so maybe something like your car keys are causing a dirty place to be given extra friction thus a stain. If it was the right leg I would say maybe it is the latch of your car door. That's all I got except maybe next year but black shorts.

I've got Dick Tracey looking into it! Try some grease lighting on it. the stuff works wonders.

Is the stain on the inside of your calf? If so, then I'm thinking the door sill of the car, transferred from the under part of the door. You don't see the anything there because it is on your pants, until you close the door and it transfers from the door to the sill again in anticipation of you getting back into, or out of the car. If it is anywhere else, I am stumped.

Where can I get a full body transplant in Canada? any ideas, or will I have to come to the states?

fun.ny :)

Can't wait to hear about the source of those stains. Until then, like someone else recommended - wear black :)

I thought of the car door also...

has to be somewhere

Jeez woman. Just stop wearing pants already! Cleaning off your leg is so much easier.
