Indian Summer

… can go suck it.

It has been in the 70s the past couple of days. Even warmer inside my house since I guess the furnace heat from when it was in the 40s is just clinging to the freaking walls.

And it’s humid. Really, really humid. I hate humid.

The AC is covered and powered down because my son is a chronic over-achiever who doesn’t get hot flashes. Every year I say don’t plant til June and don’t winterize til November. No one listens. Then it snows in May and it’s hot in October.

The open windows are letting in way too much humidity and very little breeze.

And the people next door need to use their inside voices. Inside.

I’ll be better when I get cold.

I did find an interesting article about Indian Summer

Low 90s here. I would kill for your 70s, humid or not, cause it's humid as hell here. Where did my fall go?

Oh, I love you, Dianne!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for posting this.

I was JUST thinking/complaining about this same thing.

I'm on my way to work this morning; watching people walk around in freakin' tank tops, shorts, and flip-flops, and wanting to scream...

I HATE THIS!!!

We've been having such gorgeous fall weather the past few weeks and then BAM! Summer is back!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!?#*

Honestly, I think you and I need to move to Alaska.

X ya!

At least it will get colder, LOL :)

The big weather swings we're experiencing here is just killing my allergies. Happens every fall and every spring.

I don't know what 70s is but I love the warmth.

Dare I tell you it was windy and snowing and frigid here today? A friggin' blizzard. Take heart, Dianne, it should be headed your way soon. :)

Sorry I did not read the linked article about Indian summer. I know what it is, and I enjoyed your crankiness too much to spoil the mood. Besides we're having 45 degrees and steady rain, so we can only hope for a bit of Indian summer before we are plunged into five months of the big gray.

Come visit me in Oregon! Not real cold but damp and chilly -- my bones ache! .... now I remember why we usually come visit the kids in the summer and LEAVE in October, instead of the other way round.

I'll take the warmth -- but of course I'm much older and have gone through that "power surge" time already. (Also, you do need A/C with that humidity.... does it cool down any at night?

We've been down to -3C recently so I'd give my right arm for 70 degrees! Still it wouldn't do for us all to like the same thing would it? :)

Cooler weather is on the way, Di. No worries. Cheers Di!!

I am enjoying this Indian Summer for while I don't mind cold, I just hate having to bundle up to go somewhere.
Too many years in Florida I think.

We have rain in the forecast as far as the eye can see, except for a short break tomorrow. Every weekend, rain. Of course it's the Pacific Northwest, and I knew what I was getting into when I moved here. I hope your nice crisp fall weather returns soon.

I felt the same way .. letting in the humidity vs letting in some air .. GAH.. and in our place the AC is packed away because I insisted on it last week .. its not going to be hot enough I said .. and of course this is the one time he actually listened/did what I asked ....

I don't usually mind the heat but why in the hell do I have a leather jacket on the back of my seat when it's 90 fing degrees in my office? Madness!

I'm right there with you on the whole hating humidity part! It's been warm here the past couple of days, and humid, but not intolerable so I guess we've been lucky up here.

Sending you cool thoughts!

Our weather people claim it's not Indian Summer until we've gone below 32 degrees and then back up. So far that hasn't happened here.

Hi Dianne! I'm with you. I HATE HEAT AND HUMIDITY. They are saying the temps are supposed to be in the 50's day after tomorrow. I hope they are right for a change. Did have a nice little thunder storm a bit ago, but it didn't help with much. Try and stay cool. Lisa

You would think that your family WOULD lixten to you...So sorry, my dear. I too HATE Humidity!! It is the worst!
Here, we have to keep everything going all year long---AC & HEAT! Cause you never know what the weather will be doing within one week, let alone one month or season. Not complaining, just explaining.....I hope the weather pulls itself together for you very quickly, my dear!

Our Indian summer didn't last long enough for me, I had to knock the ice off of the window a/c before I could bring it inside ;) Of course we don't get the humidity you get, but I love I.S. because the bugs have mostly been killed off by the frost ;)

I take my hat off to you. Weather writing that is interesting and also giving me a laugh. That there is pretty good gosh darn writing.
That little Hope is getting cuter as the posts go by.

Are you kidding me? I’d be on my knees thanking the lord above for the blessed warmth. I hate nothing worse than the cold, wet, miserable air of discontenting winter. I hate it!
