Sheldon

Ever since the famous line from ‘When Harry Met Sally’ - “Have sex with me Sheldon, you're an animal Sheldon, ride me big Sheldon” – I have loved the name Sheldon.
It’s endearing. It’s nerdy and geeky in a sexy way.

Just like the character Sheldon from the TV show ‘Big Bang Theory’.

How can you not love someone who turns rock-paper-scissors into …

Scissors cuts paper, paper covers rock, rock crushes lizard, lizard poisons Spock, Spock smashes scissors, scissors decapitates lizard, lizard eats paper, paper disproves Spock, Spock vaporizes rock, and as it always has, rock crushes scissors.

Or has conversations like this …

Sheldon: Why are you crying?
Penny: Because I'm stupid!
Sheldon: That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad.

Penny is the “dumb blonde” character although actress Kaley Cuoco makes the role more genuine, less sterotype.

The actor who portrays Sheldon – Jim Parsons - won the Emmy this year for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. I was rooting for him.

Parsons often appears on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and so I feel I know a bit more of him and how he differs from Sheldon. I find him more endearing and sexy – less nerdy and geeky.

You Go Sheldon – uh – Jim!

My daughter Mandy and I both love the Big Bang Theory and Sheldon especially and we've even got my son semi-hooked on the show too. It's our believe the character of Sheldon either has Aspberger's or is patterned a whole lot like someone with Aspberger's because his social skills are definitely missing! That's one really terrific program though, isn't it?

I've only managed to see a few episodes, but he is rather funny.

Except for this post, I didn't know him at all but I think he is very cute. :-)

I haven't watched it at all. The only two comedy shows I watch regularly are 30 Rock and Scrubs. Usually in reruns. I resist watching any new shows, but this one sounds interesting.

Big Bang Theory is, without a doubt, the funniest thing on TV at the moment. Much loved and watched in our house. Sheldon and Leonard - love 'em.

BBT is such a great show! The chemistry between "Sheldon" and "Penny" is wonderful and produces hilarious results!

Big Bang Theory is a great show. I not happy they changed the night it's on this season.

LOVE this show, and Sheldon in particular. I've never seen the actor interviewed and would love to. Maybe I'll go check YouTube.

Yeah, that's a good idea...

BAZINGA! ;)

jeni - it is a great show, I love them all but Sheldon just shines
the producers say they refuse to label Sheldon but they think it's wonderful if people see pieces of themselves in him
since I believe we are all on a spectrum I absolutely see pieces of me in Sheldon
that's why I include his line about stupid people making him cry, they make me cry too
I think he touches a lot of us who don't fell "normal" - whatever the hell normal is

reb - he cracks me up every episode

pagan - he's adorable, check out the show if you can, I think you'd enjoy
it's much smarter than the average sitcom

DJan - I can't sleep 9 out of 10 nights so my DVR is full and I watch a lot of TV
this show was recently given an award by the Canadian Scientists Assoc. or something like that for bring science and scientists to the masses in a funny and human way
pretty cool

daryl - would I want to ride him!? ;)

singing bear - I'm so glad you enjoy it :)

nitebyrd - they are wonderful together, she doesn't take crap from him the way the others do and in the end that makes him more likable
I loved when he was trying to teach her physics :)

mike - I agree, I liked Monday night the way it was
I guess they thought it was the strongest show to move
it has quite a following

hilary - you killed me!! priceless!! clearly a fan of the show
we have started doing the knocks in 3 to Hope
poor kid, we'll mess her up if it kills us ;)
check him out on Craig Ferguson's show - he's most comfy there and they clearly like each other
he was Letterman and seemed a bit overwhelmed

You're not going to believe this, but I just rewatched "When Harry Met Sally" about a month ago. Is it not the most fabulous movie.

“Have sex with me Sheldon, you're an animal Sheldon, ride me big Sheldon”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Loved that part!

Being someone who doesn't watch TV, I've not seen this show but have heard people at work RAVE about it. The cast looks freakin' awesome!

Ok...I've gotta watch it now!

X to you and the gang!

I have no idea why I don't always record this show for the few times I have watched it, I thought it very funny and he is such a dear.
This may be my Seifeld that I never watched till it hit rerun status. I'll try to do better. Thanks.

Y'know...I have never met anyone named Sheldon. How peculiar. Cheers Di!!

Ha! I freaking love his character! I’ve never seen him in anything other than that show, but Sheldon seems too perfect for him.

Big Bang is one of only 3 comedies that are any good.

ron - I have seen 'when harry met sally' a million times, it's a classic!!

ellen - it is a fun show :)

old old lady of the hills - I have it on the DVR, looking forward to seeing him
I really think he's brilliant

mrs c - I trust your scissor/paper expertise :)

jay - he has a movie coming out and he mentioned in an interview that he hopes he doesn't become typecast as only Sheldon - that's the risk of being that good as one character

ladyfi - it is!! :)

patti - "he is such a dear" - that's exactly how I feel about him :)

matt-man - you can call me Sheldon Matty ;)

scott - his performance is one of those where you just can't imagine anyone else doing it

I used to date a guy named Sheldon.

I’ve always been drawn to nerdy guys. I remember playing the “Barbie” game with my sister. There were 4 boys to choose from. Pointdexter was the geekiest one. He wore glasses and was delicately built. I never revealed my preference which was turned out to be a reliable strategy.

Sounds like a great show!

I love love Sheldon!
I wonder why?!!

I have not seen any episodes of Big Bang Theory. But now I have an excellent reason to check them out.

Thanks

BBT is one of my favourite shows right now (along with 30 Rock). no matter how many times I rewatch the shows they always make me smile or laugh. I almost spat my food across the room recently when watching the latest episode where (spoiler alert) Sheldon gets a glaring of cats and goes to feed them. It was totally the way he delivered the line and the mannerisms he acted. A well deserved award!

I have never even heard of this. I didn't know this rock I'm under was so big.

I've liked this show since its very first episode as even though I don't consider myself to necessarily be a nerd or a geek, I can relate to more of it than I should probably admit! After all, I didn't go to that Star Trek convention in NYC back in the 70's for nuthin'!

Great acting all the way around in this show not the least of which is Parsons who most definitely deserved that Emmy!

Shucks! I fell asleep and missed him....But I saw a clip on something, where he talked about Alec Baldwin sending him a Wine abd Cheese basket...Sweet and Funny!

He's amazing, and so is the show. I'm glad Raj is finally getting some decent screen time, even if it did require a Brobdignagian desk to accomplish this. :)
