Cookies and Crapola

My new favorite saying. An elderly woman at the grocery introduced me to it when a ridiculous display of coffee started to fall on me as I gingerly tried to pull out a can. I muttered 'fuck this' under my breath and, as she breezed by me on her motorized chair, she laughed and said ' it's always cookies and crapola my dear'.

It's been a busy week. The last of the old office equipment was dragged out of the basement and taken to the recycling yard. After that I took Hope to the park ...

On Wednesday I was out all day in search of wellness. I finally got Medicare coverage and navigated the treacherous waters of supplementary coverage but I can't find a primary care physician. Cookies and Crapola.

On my way to an appointment I saw these lovely young people ...

They thought I was taking pictures to report them for some biking infraction. I told them I took their picture because they were so "fucking free and beautiful". That made them happy and taught them not to assume.

Wednesday evening the moon peeked at me as I went to my first Tai Chi Chih class. More about the class once I feel I know what I'm talking about.

May your weekend be more Cookies than Crapola.

Ha ha you cracked me up when you said "Fuck this" under your breath. I tend to say "Fucking hell" under mine.

May you have a crapola free weekend!

My current under-the-breath comment is "Arse" (I'm so British).

Enjoy the Tai Chi. Pete and I did that for our last year or so in Glasgow (Cheng Man Ching form) - he did it years ago and is really into it, I did it because we thought it would be a nice thing to do together. I'm the world's most uncoordinated person, so the fact that I eventually got my way through the whole 10+ minutes of the form, mostly (vaguely) pointing the right limb the right way at the right time was such a big thing for me. I wasn't fussed about the philosophy behind it, but it was nice for an hour a week to get everything else out of my head and be calm(ed). The teacher told lots of stories about old Tai Chi masters, most of which were utter crapola I thought, but fun to listen to. We must start doing that again. I've forgotten most of the form already.

I laughed when those bikers thought you were taking pictures of them for imagined infractions. I think that phrase may go viral! :-)

I could get you in with my PC doc but you'de be screaming alot more than 'cookies and crappola' at the wait time for a scheduled appt. And I KNOW you'de throttle one of the girls in the office. Ooh... yeah, seriously, why don't you come down this way and help us with a few things! ;)

Enjoy your class and many more days at the park with your sweetie.

When the first screen came up I just saw the top of Hopes' head and the frame of the play walkway. It looked like she was helping clean up tornado damage.

Hey, I prefer your first statement... "FUCK!" I say it all the time, even if it's not-so-nice for a 75 year old *lady* to do so.

People just have to cope. -grin- -chuckle-

Cookies and Crapolo is certainly more genteel than fuck this but sometimes Fuck anything is the only saying that describes how you feel don't you think? LOL

Love the pic of Hope and The Young Ones. :)

OMG, I LOVED Akelamalu's comment and I agree!!!

"it's always cookies and crapola my dear."

HAHAHAHAHAHHHA! BRILLIANT! And I think that may become my new saying!

I am so happy and excited to hear about you taking a Tai Chi Chih class because I know you're gonna love it! Can't wait to read more about it.

Great shots! Love that last one, it's beautiful!

Have a supa' weekend, dear lady.

X and hugs to you and Hope!

Finding a primary care physician that one likes is a difficult task to start with but when you also then have to figure out which doctors will accept which insurance plans too and make a decision that fills the bill on both counts can be next to damned near impossible! I was fortunate that my PC doc takes BC/BS when I signed up for that. Now, however, there is -has been for sometime -a nice battle brewing down in the Pittsburgh area between BC/BS and the University of Pittsburgh's medical facilities about UPMC's insurance vs Blue Cross with UPMC announcing a while back that they plan to no longer accept BC/BS insurance plans! What the heck is someone who lives far away from that area but has physicians in the area and utilizes the UPMC's hospitals and such? Switch to UPMC and then, not have coverage with my Primary Care dr. or what? Aggravating situation that hopefully the two factions will get ironed out soon! Good luck with your search though and hope you find someone quickly.

Gorgeous moon shot. And it's always great to see photos of Hope. She's so wonderful.
Laughed about the old lady on the electric scooter giving you a new phrase. Great stuff. And the kids on the motorcycles, too. Good for you. They're not all bad, that's for sure, but some people don't realize it.

I may need to adopt this Cookies and Crapola to use in place of 'what a fucking disaster' which very often ends up just 'oh fuck'

I'm still uninsured (holding out for medicare, only a couple more years) but my PC doc doesn't take insurance...period. He'll happily give you what ever documentation you need to file yourself but he does not want to deal with it and I don't blame him. His fees are reasonable and he sits and talks with you and listens to you for however long it takes so I don't mind paying out of my pocket (which I would be doing anyway).

I avoid the F-bomb but sometimes it pops out. (28 years of marriage to a submarine sailor doesn't go away easily.) I do like cookies and crapola -- it works!!!!

That's a lovely saying! Not sure if I think of it and insert instead of some profanity next time something hits me though ;)
Have a great cookie weekend!

The Moon looks like a 'fire' behind the trees....Beautiful Picture....!
May you have ALL Cookies and No Crapola, this weekend...
HUGS TO HOPE!

I hope the cookies come with a cuppa, while the crapola stays well in the background!

I think I may be due for some cookies, after all the crapola I've had to put up with this week. Congratulations on your recent rite of passage (Medicare). It should help a lot.

Linda said...

I had a couple of cookies at the end of my "stress" class today so does that mean I'm now due for crapola? Gosh, I hope not, I've had about all of the crapola I can tolerate for a little while!

Congrats on getting Medicare into place - best wishes on the supplemental stuff. Navigating any insurance waters these days is pretty treacherous!

Have a cookie-filled weekend!

Very good...and after you have enough info to share on the Tai Chi Chih class...I look forward to your sharing of it...you know-'for shits and giggles', as a friend of mine has a habit of saying.

Rambling Woods said...

LOL..I needed a new one..this fits.. You have insurance..oh that is wonderful.. it can be hard to find a doc as I found out..but the ones who stick in the system seem to like people more than the ones who won't be bothered...young and free... cookies and crapola...

Linda Reeder said...

I felt sort of young and free myself today. All cookies and no crapola. Better keep my head down tomorrow.
I'm glad to hear you got health care coverage. I hope you find a doc soon.

Halcyon said...

I love your attitude! :)
The young people do look free and easy on their bikes and I love that sky!

Granny Annie said...

Usually people in motorized carts are only delivering crapola as they attempt to run you over.

Any day with Hope has to be a cookie day.

That photograph of the moon through the trees would be a great screen saver.

LOL!!! I'm trying to curb my use of the F....word, (it's so expressive in so many ways though...) I like what this woman suggested though, going to keep it ready!

I wish you a cookie filled weekend too!

Cookies and crapola.

I like it. Better than cheese and whine. Or cake and shitdingers.

I've heard the expression 'you don't know shit from shinola' but cookies and crapola is new to me. Good luck finding a GP, and congrats on cleaning out the basement and getting the Medicare. Hope you have a cookie filled weekend ;)

I love it! You may have all of us adopting it before too long. Wishing you wonderful cookies.. even if you have to endure a few crumbs.
