Is That a Seed Pod ...

... or is that tree just happy to see me?

I noticed these trees early one recent evening as I left a small shop across the road from them. The trees are quite tall, taller than the home they surround, and they appear to be growing around one another in a cluster. I couldn't see all of them since the property was enclosed by a tall fence.

I tried looking for them on  the seed site   but there are so many.

Now I have to see if I can find out what it is.. Thank you for your comments on my blog...I really appreciate it...hugs...Michelle

They look like a pine cone of sorts. There is a conifer near us that is just beginning to produce some too.
