Temporarily Out of Service

Lightning
or Rain

or Lions and Tigers and Bears

have caused some basement issues including problems with our phone lines, especially broadband

I've said it before - NJ is like a freakin' third world nation
leaning poles
rotted conduit boxes
snarled wires shoved into tiny rusted things hanging from lines weighed down by too much technology and not enough infrastructure

But hey, my illustrous governor is giving the keynote tonight at the Clown Convention so I'm sure he'll have solutions for everything
Funny, when I heard the hurricane was headed toward the convention I could swear I heard Pat Robertson shouting at the heavens "You told me the gays caused hurricanes! Now's not the time to reveal it's really Republicans destroying everything"

Probably was just a neighbor

Anyhoo - I have very limited computer resources until this crap gets sorted out. I think my laptop was also affected or infected or fried or ...

Right now I'm using an ancient desktop in the soggy basement with 2 dixie cups and some string. The sheer force of my will is catching satellite signals and bouncing them off my head.

Those of us about to call tech support salute you ...

I think that was my favorite line. Sorry about soggy basement issues. I think that fixing that should be a national priority! How can we do without you? See you soon! :)

Bwhahahahahaha! Dianne, you CRACK ME UP, WOMAN!!!

Sorry to hear about your basement issues. Sending MUCH "good vibes" that it gets mended soon.

X ya!

Yep, sending you my first hug today and hopes that the frustration is taken care of quickly -- but then I'm actually a realist so I don't have any high hopes for a quick solution to the problem -- and particularly not with your governor!! What a dip shit he is! Can't help but wish the Clown Convention would get swept out to the Gulf, but then that would contaminate the water!! Now a hug for Hope!!

Ugh.. I hope you get it sorted out before too long. Find one more Dixie cup and fill it with something potent.

"The sheer force of my will is catching satellite signals and bouncing them off my head." Why do I believe that ; )
Maybe you should get a larger Dixie cup to follow Hilary's suggestion.

Get that telephone son of yours over there. He's used to dealing with this stuff.

I enjoyed this so much and knew the Old Salt would like it even more. I called him in to read it and being true to himself he had to read it out loud.

I had just gotten a sip of tea when he got to the dixie cups and hearing it out loud caused me to spray my monitor and desk with the secant of lemon and orange pekoe.

Hope it's all fixed by now.
It's amazing how little they care about us - the regular peeps :(
Hugs from Ohio,
I.

But your Gov is so good at bragging about all he has done to fix NJ. Not true? Oh, I'm shocked.
Take it easy down there in that damp basement.

Gosh I hate when that happens (having to bounce signals off my head and all that). But if anyone can do that, you can!!

Bill said the same thing about Hurricane Isaac and the Republicans that you did and we had a good laugh -- where's Pat Robertson now?. (Laughing b/c the whole thing is so sad though in so many ways.) Sorry 'bout you having that guy as your governor (but I spend most of the year in Florida, and that guy's even worse, if possible._)

Good luck with the techhie guys you call.

Only you, Dianne, could give us a comment like that one about Pat Robertson and the hurricanes! Loved that and had to chuckle aloud when I read that. Hope you get your technology and water issues sorted out and quickly too. I need the reinforcement more and more as I get older of a bit of sarcastic humor being doled out -especially when it applies to the Repubs!!!

I thought it was too many Italians and other swarthy and inefficient ethnic groups; this kind of thing doesn't happen in Vermont.
