I am doing this for Dianne. (who just called me sexy - she needs new glasses)
She is calling me from her car. She has power but no Internet and has to sit in her car to telephone. Her son has a generator and is supplying the neighborhood with electricity, She will not be able to respond to this or answer your comments.. She wrote the following.
I'm putting this up as quick as I can since I don't know how long I'll have a connection.
We're OK
We have no power
You haven't lived until you've tried to power yourself and half the street on one generator.
Making 1 cell call takes strategic planning and 4 hours.
Getting gas requires a flotilla all armed with charged cellphones and synchronized watches.
Our town is so so so so so lucky
We are surrounded by devastation.

So thankful to know you're okay. Big hugs to you and yours.
Wonderful news! Lack of power is a pain in the butt but can be coped with--especially with a generator. Very happy you are all okay!
And many thanks to whoever posted this for her!
Yaaaaaaaaaay! I'm so glad you finally got in touch with someone to post for you, Dianne! I called you twice, but I know that it was almost impossible for you to call me back.
I am so glad to hear you're safe and well.
Sending much good thoughts your way that you get your power restored quickly.
Much X to you and Hope!
So very happy to hear that you are safe Dianne!!!
So happy to see this..I figured you didn't have power and this whole thing is so very horrible...hugs to you and your family for sharing the generator. When we were without power for 5 days not one person on the street with a generator offered as much as a cell phone charge..you are good people...hugs..Michelle
Thanks for the update. So glad to know that you're safe. And thank you to the kind person who posted this in Dianne's absence.
So glad to know you are all okay there....Seeing the devistation of New Jersey and Queens, etc...is shocking and so very very sad!
Hoping you get your Internet back soon, my dear. (((((((HUGS)))))))
So glad to hear you're all OK - you're in my prayers.x
What everybody else has already said: so glad to hear you are okay. And thinking about your blogging buddies who want to know, going through all those hoops to get this post up, THANK YOU! Sending you virtual hugs and wishes for the power to be back soon.
Glad you hear you are ok, if struggling. Will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Gin
I am soooooo glad to hear that you are OK and your family is OK and your house is OK. I've seen the devastation and have been very worried so was extremely glad to read this post.
Thank you!
so glad you escaped the worst. I've been through many hurricanes myself. the last one we had no power for about a week. the one before that I think it was 9 days.
I have been thinking about you (and Hope) and hoping all is well. Not the best you could expect but you're alive and well. Love . . . Janice
Just thankful to know that you are all okay. Keep your chin up. I hope the power returns soon.
Thank you for thinking about us, your blog family. We are all relieved to hear form you and to know that you and your family are OK.
LOVE to you and your family!! Just the little things like dinner, shower and clean socks mean so much if you've been without power for a fair while!!
I was so happy to see a new post from Dianne and that they are all OK. Whoever you are who posted this for her, thank you!
When you see this Dianne, how wonderful of you guys to share that generator....puts new meaning to being a good neighbor. Thoughts are with you. I have checked my google reader every day for a new post from you; I am SO glad you are OK. Hugs.
And I so hope that your power is restored soonest!!! ooooo
Good to know y'all are okay.
The reports and pictures are heartbreaking.
Thanks for letting us know.
Glad to know you're okay babe. I was very worried.
Jay
Here's hoping that things begin to rapidly return to normal soon!
I'm so glad tht you're safe!
here's my big idea... pool your resources .. organize the neighbors and their cars .. syphon gas from all but few .. use the syphoned gas for the generator .. then send the other car(s) out to do errands and get more gas ... and please stay safe xoxoxo
