We're OK and Very Lucky

I am doing this for Dianne.  (who just called me sexy - she needs new glasses)
She is calling me from her car.  She has power but no Internet and has to sit in her car to telephone.  Her son has a generator and is supplying the neighborhood with electricity,  She will not be able to respond to this or answer your comments.. She wrote the following.

I'm putting this up as quick as I can since I don't know how long I'll have a connection.

We're OK
We have no power
You haven't lived until you've tried to power yourself and half the street on one generator.
Making 1 cell call takes strategic planning and 4 hours.
Getting gas requires a flotilla all armed with charged cellphones and synchronized watches.

Our town is so so so so so lucky

We are surrounded by devastation.

Wonderful news! Lack of power is a pain in the butt but can be coped with--especially with a generator. Very happy you are all okay!

And many thanks to whoever posted this for her!

So happy to see this..I figured you didn't have power and this whole thing is so very horrible...hugs to you and your family for sharing the generator. When we were without power for 5 days not one person on the street with a generator offered as much as a cell phone charge..you are good people...hugs..Michelle

here's my big idea... pool your resources .. organize the neighbors and their cars .. syphon gas from all but few .. use the syphoned gas for the generator .. then send the other car(s) out to do errands and get more gas ... and please stay safe xoxoxo
