We were all asleep when the snow plow came through and then just stopped behind our house with its yellow lights flashing. It was just before 5 AM Saturday morning. The room filled with light and there was a dull rumbling sound.
Siren and Isadora went from being sound asleep to running up and down the hall and then stopping to stare at the windows and then run again.
Siren listens to me more than Isadora does so I did convince him to stop. I sounded ridiculous as I tried explaining the situation to him. He hunkered down into his 'I am made of stone' position and just stared at me.
Isadora went to her favorite recliner in the corner.
When the plow started up again with a belch and a rumble and then a huge thump as the plow blade hit the ground Isadora had enough.
She threw herself against the wall, moved her recliner, and scattered all her toys.
Remarkably everyone else in the house slept through it all.
We got about a foot of snow and never lost power so all in all it was no big deal although Siren and Isadora would not agree.

That's great that you didn't lose power.
I sometimes think the plows are going to rupture something below the street the way they can be so rough and loud.
Poor kitties. Cats are the definition of control freaks. They go out of their way to make sure that they know everything that's going on through thorough investigation of their formidable senses. So, when something happens they don't understand, they freak. I can't imagine something much more frightening than a yellow flashing light then the rumble and thud of a huge snowplow. Hopefully, things have been much more calm since.
So glad you didn't lose power and only got a minimal (ha ha) amount of snow.
I'm glad that all turned out well in your snowy neck of the woods. The cats are a hoot. Just be glad that you didn't have Benny there through all of that. The rest of the family would not have slept through it.
Yes, I'm glad you didn't lose power, too!! I'm sure the kitties wouldn't agree that things weren't nearly as bad as they could have been!! You and Hope stay warm!!
That is great news! I was worried about you, and I really appreciated you letting me know you are all right. Of course, the cats as you said were not amused! :-)
I'm glad to read that it was not a true disaster of a storm....though it sounds like it was a doozy for dear Siren and Isadora...LOL! So happy you are okay!
Your cats crack me up. So glad that you "weathered" the storm safely. Stay warm.
HA! Dianne, I love that last shot of Isadora and the aftermath of throwing herself against the wall!
That's exactly what I do whenever I hear the jackhammers below in the city streets - OY!
X to you, Hope, Siren and Isadora!
OH I'm so glad you're OK and that the latest mess more or less missed you. I'm catching up on your posts and started at the beginning of what I missed, so was holding my breath when I read the previous post.
that's good news that you were spared the worst the storm had to offer.
I hope the kitties have calmed down.
Heh...that's genius! It's funny how each cat has a unique way to deal with intrusive noises :-) For the record, I'm on team Isadora!
It's good that you didn't lose power.
sweet rose may she rest in peace was freaked out by the sound of any truck going past our windows . but the boys were fascinated by both the plows and the shoveling .. they loved watching a man dig out his car only to have it re-buried when the plows went by ...
That is funny that you say a "foot of snow" as if it is no big deal. We go crazy around here when get a couple of inches of snow. I would be right beside Siren and Isadora.
I'm sorry but I couldn't help laughing. You write so descriptively I can just see Isadora tearing up the place!
Our Golden didn't like thunder and when we got a storm she'd just hunker down and tremble.
Glad you were spared more agony...stay warm!
