Bipartisan Fun

My Governor and My President got together during Hurricane Sandy to be leaders, not politicians.

Governor Christie took a lot of heat for that from his Republican "friends", but that's for a more political post.

I came upon these two stories in my wanderings through the internet tubes. The lighter side of politicians ...

Governor Christie is a favorite for late night comedy. Saturday Night Live loves him.

The Governor showed up in person recently.

You can see the clip HERE

Mckayla Maroney, Olympic gymnast known for her "I'm not impressed" expression, visited the White House.

A smile goes a long way.

She should trademark it!

It's nice to see the lighter "human" side of our political leaders instead of the gasbag clips we're usually bombarded with via the media.

Funny post. I'm not a fan of Christie but I do appreciate his appreciation of Obama and the government as opposed to many of his more recalcitrant fellow-travelers!

Yep, I'm with Lowell here, too!! Good to see some humor, some fun in regards to politics and politicians -- not an easy thing to find these days!! Thank you!!!

I have a lot of respect for Governor Christie. He spoke his mind, thought for himself, recognized good when he saw it and refused to be told what to do or say.

It has been a long haul in NJ and NY. Glad the humor is back. A long way to go, though. Nice post.

I was impressed that these two guys showed the world what leadership is. Putting politics aside, they demonstrated how government can be of service, and the good of the people comes before politics or personal image. And they both know how to be personable, have fun, and laugh at themselves.

I LOVED that Chrstie and Obama became allies in a mutual and urgent need! And I also saw your Governer on SNL and thought it was great that he went on "In Person"....And I Loved Obama doing that little thing with his mouth....lol!

That definitely was one bright moment in that storm when your Governor could set aside his (wrong ;>)) political beliefs in the moment that the need was great for cooperation. He showed statesmanship in that one instance.

It is good to see all levels of government working together. Then to see that they have a sense of humour is just the icing on the cake.

Huh, I can't imagine the Malaysian PM like this. Or the British one for that matter.

Hmmmmm....

There's room for a good sense of humour in just about every aspect of life.

I saw this! I was amazed at how politics can be trumped by need andcooperation.
