Project Blue: Last Call
It’s time to bid adieu to Project Blue. Stop by Anna’s Place to see all the entries.
Some really great photography out there.
One of the best moments from one of my favorite films ‘Steel Magnolias’ is when Olympia Dukakis tells a bedazzled and bejeweled Darryl Hannah that “the only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize”.
My animals have accessories.
One of Siren’s favorites is his official George W. Bush catnip filled pal. I use the term pal loosely.
The back view is Siren’s. It’s worn and its stuffing is coming out. It has seen some rough times. The reason I call it an accessory rather than a toy is because Siren will walk around carrying it in his mouth. If only it were that easy to keep tabs on the real one!
Siren will also drop his ‘W’ then jump on it as though shocked that it’s there. He sits on it until he can get his back paws around it and then flips over and pummels that sucker. He’s such a good boy!!
The front view is Mia’s. It’s a lot younger than Siren’s so it looks better but it’ll probably always look good. I fear that Mia might be a Bush Republican! She looks at it confused then licks it once or twice and pushes it into a corner. She doesn’t want to play with it and she doesn’t want to hurt it – she just wants it to get the hell out of her way.
I think the photo is pretty clear but just in case:
Back View
Left hand – EZ Guide to Being President
Right hand – Super Hero Comics
Back pocket – English as a Second Language
On his back – If found return me to the White House
Front View
Lapel pocket – Bad Guy Cards
Left wrist – Time to Cut Taxes watch
His red cowboy boots have giant Ws on them.
Take a look at the great stuff at Fat Cat Inc. – I got these at a local store but you can order them and lots more from the site.

I just LOVE this! A glorious end to project blue!
Bush as a chew toy. Perfection! I love it.
I do like the idea of him as a chew toy, but what's this about Mia? Well, maybe she just doesn't consider him worth her time.
Raven - I must say it felt quite glorious to pose him and try to make him stand up long enough to get the shot. thanks Raven :)
quilly - "perfection"!! thanks - I love that
bobbie - there's just something about Mia's aura LOL - she's very debutante or DAR or something. But I love her none the less and hanging out with us will do wonders for her.
HAHAHA! You just made me laugh out loud!
I think my sister needs one of these for her dog. That dog has ripped at least three stuffed ducks to shreds. This would be much better. Of course my brother in law is in the Air Force so this would probably be frowned upon. Oh well. ;-)
Be honest...when the kitties are asleep do you take out their W's & stomp on them?
Hehehe...that's funny.
diane - laughing out loud is good! thanks :)
jay - doesn't the AF say don't ask, don't tell? I'm sure it extends to dog toys ;)
jo - well there is that vodoo course I took ...
tammy - if only the real thing was as harmless!
My cats are now all very jalous ! having George Doubleyou as a toy !
I too regret that "blue" is over and have the blues now !
you just crack me up. that's it...you make me smile...
You are an ever-loving trip, girl! Too doggone funny for words, really! And all I can think of now is that I really have to try -or tell my son to try -to get one of these to send to his former girlfriend! (She's a card-carrying member of NOW so that should also explain why I think she would absolutely love to have something like this for her cat(s). Translated: she's a staunch democrat who despises DUBYA! By the way, I'm still chuckling over this post!
This is hilarious, I love it. I love the English as a Second Language.
Hello to the kitties!
GAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Move the cats those screeching tires you hear are me coming to run that sucker down!
gattina - blue was great and it's only a few weeks til her next project. I hope we'll all keep visiting each other :)
tt - tis a pleasure to do so!
jeni - thanks!! you're always so kind to me.
the website has them, they're back in stock. I wanted to get a ton of them and put them in a bucket of water and have "bobbing for W" games.
snoopmurph - kitties say hi right back. The ESL is my favorite too.
mark - another idea! besides "bobbing for W" we could line the streets with these and drag race.
OH OH - and another one. in Brooklyn, back in the stone age of my youth, we used to play hit the penny - two kids, one ball and we'd bounce the ball to each other trying to hit the penny. Now I've just invented 'Hit the Moron'
As a feared "Bush Republican" I should probably just comment on the fact that it's blue and be on my way. The rest we can just agree to disagree. :)
robert - agreeing to disagree is always a good thing :)
Peace
LOL This is fantastic! Great project blue!
LOL, I love the lil red cowbot boots! I guess Siren is just a political critic at heart adn a wise cat too!
i wish your pets were here a couple of days ago to chew on the man in person... half the coutry was at a stand still because of his visit :(
Great blue! If I gave those to puppy I thing she would just rip the limbs off one by one...growling the whole time. Hmmmmm. I abhor violence but it's something I would watch..with glee. Sad but true.
thanks so much sandpiper!
bobkat - Siren is surely one wise cat LOL
juliana - I humbly apologize for all the traffic troubles he caused! at least you folks get to watch him leave - we've been stuck with for years and he's ruined way more than traffic ;)
love your blog and hope we continue to vist each other.
shelly - you know I never checked to see if they have them in dog size! I have to go check now.
and I know exactly how you feel!!
I'm lovin' W: The Chew Toy! Too funny!
I wish someone would stick a fork in Bush...he's DONE! Not quick enough!! Thanks for stopping by Spatter...
Thanks for stopping by my Drive for a cure post.

Sue
thanks RLL! and thanks for stopping by.
june - I agree. I just hope the right decision is made in November!
photowannabe - thanks for the link! I found the site map. There's a few near me in September and October. I'm going to register! What a great idea, so glad I saw your post.
And again - kudos to you and your family
Hi Dianne! Give Mia some time. She'll come around.
Steel Magnolias is a great movie. I fell in love with the name Shelby so when I adopted a black lab, that's what I named her. My mom just rolled her eyes. Turned out it was a fitting name. She developed insulin dependent diabetes. She lived many years after, but it took its toll on her.
Anyway, this is a great project blue entry. Lisa
This is so funny, it's a toy that is SUPPOSED TO get ripped apart! LOL!!
Thx for visiting me, see you!
The stuffing has been coming out of the real Dubya for years. Cheers Di!!
Lisa - Shelby is a great name! and I'm sure your Shelby was lucky to have you. My JR needed insulin the last year of his life and then he developed just one illness after another BUT he lived to 16 and was happy every day :)
I saw a Broadway production of Steel Magnolias with Delta Burke. The audience knew all the lines!
jientje - I know! I should stock up LOL
matt-man - LOL - so true!
I freakin love the W toy... English as a second language ROTFL !!
doc - I wish they made them life size! Watch - that comment will get me on a list!
I think Siren knows what "shock and awe" really is.
Oh Jeff! If I could come up with my own equivalent of matt-man's COW it would be yours!
Your cats have fabulous taste in cat toys...
fermicat - they are sophisticated aren't they LOL
thanks.
Brilliant ... I am sure Gus, our older cat, would love it .. he had a 'veterinarian' catnip toy for years ... he loved to lick it and sit on it ...
:-Daryl
daryl - Siren had the vet for awhile, then it just disintegrated LOL
I loved your Dad's Day photo of the cats and Big Cat :)
Bush is over here today. Would you like us to keep him?? :) Great pic and blog post as always.
