10 Questions from Jay

Funny, sexy, smart and wonderful CYNICAL BASTARD Jay posted 10 questions on his blog for anyone to answer.

1. You’re building your dream house. What’s the one thing that this house absolutely, positively MUST HAVE? (other than the obvious basics of course)

A big ole wrap around porch. I would have soft cozy chairs and a swing and lots of plants.

2. What is your dream car?

I don’t care much about cars. If it’s comfortable and safe I’m good.

3. What is your favorite website that isn’t a blog?
Huffington Post – but there are so many – from Mother Jones to playing games at Pogo.com

4. iPhone 4 or Droid, which do you want?

I want us all to go back to ...

And only call people when we actually have something to say
And only use phones for calling people

5. When you’re feeling down or lonely or just generally out of sorts, what do you do to cheer yourself up?

Spending time with Hope is a joy.

If she’s not around for a play date then I like to go out and photograph stuff.

6. Tell me about something or someone that you love that most people seem to hate.

I love cloudy days. When the sky is silvery and the air is cool. And then a heavy downpour that comes and goes and the earth is clean.

7. What do you want to be when you grow up?

If I was young and strong right now I’d want to start a revolution against corporate greed and lobbyists. Non-violent except it wouldn’t bother me much to steal from the rich and give it back to the folks they took it from.

8. Would you go on a reality show if given the chance?

Not the way reality shows are produced today. I’d love to do a real show about real people living real lives, not Neanderthals grunting their way around the Jersey Shore.

9. Who was your favorite teacher when you were growing up? (Grade school, Middle School, Jr. High or High School only.)

Mr. Pollock, the principal of my High School in Brooklyn. I was cutting school and acting out due to circumstances at home and he made me his office assistant. He taught me about art, he had a nice collection in his office. He gave me great books to read. He constantly told me how smart I was and always showed how much he cared – for me and all the other students.

10. You get one pass to do something illegal or immoral. What are you gonna do?

Immoral is hard for me to define so I’ll go with illegal. As I said above I’d like to balance the scales of justice and fair play in this country – so I’d take back from the rich which I guess would be seen as stealing.

Thanks Jay, this was fun to put together.

OMG...I laughed my ass off at your answer for #4!

That was FLAWLESS! And you know what? I agree!!!!

I too love cloudy days. When the sky is silver and the air is cool And then a heavy downpour that comes and goes and the earth is clean.

People always look at me like I'm NUTS when I say that my favorite days are cloudy and rainy.

Me neither, don't care much about cars. As long as it has air-conditioning for the summer.

Great post, dear lady!

X to you, Hope, and the kitties!

Of course. That's you. - Me too on 4,5,6 and 8. Good questions and great answers.

I also love cloudy days. I'm thinking there may be many more kindred spirits.
Kudos to the HS principal who threw you a lifeline.

Very good. I enjoyed reading your answers.

Now about those cloudy days, cool temps, and rain. I never tire of cloud cover and cool temps, but 40 days of rain and I was sick, sick, sick of rain. Thank god the sun is shining today.

Great answers babe! Thanks for playing.

I would love a big front porch to sit out on in the evenings and have a drink and just relax as I wave at people wandering buy. Or watch the sunset. Or do all of that. haha

Cloudy days don't get me down either. I kinda like them. I should move to Seattle. ;-)

I'm with you on the wrap around porch. Love those, especially on old houses with lots of windows, gables, and character. I'd also fill them with plants.

I enjoyed reading your list.

Count me in for a wrap around porch.

Number 4 was good. "One ringgy dinggy..."

This was a fun meme. i just did it last night.

I'm thinking your cloudy days might be an infrequent as our sunny days, but either way, variety is nice.
I like the wrap around porch idea - protection from the sun or the rain!
It's always fun to read what people write about themselves.

This is WONDERFUL! I am so glad to have joined as a follower. I too agree that cloudy days are underrated. I got my fill of them last week, though, wanting the sun to start shining, and today, it DID!

I think I might put Hope on my list also and I never even met the little tyke.

We march to a similar beat, but the cloudy days, just give me enough sun for my walk and I'm with you.

Oh my God Dianne, even though I never wanted to live anywhere near the country (I have to live on a beach wherever I am) I’ve always wanted a wraparound porch too. I hope it doesn’t look too stupid on a small but modern beach house…

And I also love The Huffington Post.

I would enjoy a large wraparound porch as well.

Great photo of a cloudy day!

Your answers made me laugh and/or nod in agreement. Except I don't want a big house ever again, even with a porch.

The silvery sky thing was interesting -- I just commented yesterday that our skies here (FL)are silver just after the afternoon rainstorms. Different from Oregon, where they are GRAY. There's a definite difference. ]

Fun post.

That picture of the cloudy day isn't half bad. I could see even me liking a silvery day like that with a cool wind and a cleanness all around.

GREAT Questions and your answers were WONDERFUL! What I love about some of these Question thingy's or MEME's as we use to call them is how much one can learn about the person answering the questions.
I LOVED your story about The Pricipal...What a terrificly smart and caring man he was, and how great that he saw all your potential and found a way to excite you about it and the possibilities in life!
