One

It's Monday so that means Micro-Fiction Monday

I had to edit my wee story several times and finally got it to 139 characters.

Broderick quietly sang “one is the loneliest number that there is ever is” and contemplated how he hated being designated carriage driver.

Nice modern twist you gave Broderick and the gang.
I never would have thought of this.

Love it! ROTFL.

Thanks for your kind words about Au. We will make sure his last days are happy, and we won't let him suffer.

I can feel Broderick's pain!

Happy Monday!

Seems to me he could still take a date on the outing, but maybe there's not enough room on the driver's seat. Clever variation on "designated driver"!

I choked on my wine. ROFL.

Alas, poor Broderick.

I guess if you're named Broderick, you pretty much HAVE to be the designated driver. His chauffer cap is to his right -- where we can't see it.

Well done!

Someone always has to be the driver. Sad, isn't it?

Looks like we were thinking along the same lines!

Designated driver is definitely no fun. But the micro was :-)

I think his problem is that he appears to be hanging out with a bunch of lesbians. Cheers Di!!

It sucks to be him, alright! :O)

Poor Broderick. So sad and lonely. But, if he wasn't suck a jerk maybe it wouldn't be that way! ;-)

Good to see he's a responsible driver;-)

But he can watch what happens and then use them for his fantasies later on, right?

Brilliant, Dianne. I love the concept you've got going here.

Arkansas Patti said...

Very clever but then you always are.

Haha--loved this! Guess the poor guy not only had to stay sober to drive the carriage but he had to be alone, too!

CrystalChick said...

OH bravo! I like this one too, good job. :)

Someone has to volunteer to refrain from . . . from . . . so he can drive them home afterwards.

Bobkat said...

Yeah, being carriage driver sucks but at least he doesn't have to go home with Chlamydia (she's the one by the tree right?)). LoL!

Great piece Dianne. Hope you and yours are well.

Ken said...

You are fricken awesome at this.

Very nice MM. Love the idea of a "designated carriage driver."

Late this week. Still recovering from a Valentine's extravaganza. Hope the rest of your week goes well.

Excellent bit of micro-fiction! Try as I might I couldn't come up with anything worthy of submitting...and I've been thinking about it for the past two days! :-) I promise I'll try harder next time...

I’m leaving in seven days. I hope you come visit me in Florida…!

Looking at the bottles in the baskets, looks like they'd need a sober driver on the way home! LOL
